Citroën India Launches Updated ë-C3X EV with Battery-as-a-Service Option, Prices Start at ₹6.89 Lakh
Chennai, India, June 17, 2026: Citroën India has launched the updated Citroën ë-C3X electric SUV-coupe, introducing a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model aimed at making electric vehicle adoption more affordable for Indian customers. With prices starting at ₹10.25 lakh, and a BaaS entry price of ₹6.89 lakh plus battery subscription costs of ₹2.26/km, the new ë-C3X seeks to lower the upfront cost of EV ownership.
The launch marks a significant step in Citroën India’s strategy to democratise electric mobility by separating battery ownership from vehicle purchase, allowing customers to finance the vehicle and battery independently through a dual-loan structure offered in partnership with leading banks.
Citroën ë-C3X Introduces Flexible EV Ownership Model
According to Citroën, the Battery-as-a-Service programme addresses one of the biggest hurdles to EV adoption—high purchase prices. By reducing the upfront investment required, the company aims to make electric mobility more accessible while offering predictable ownership costs and greater peace of mind.
Speaking at the launch, Kumar Priyesh, Director Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said the new ë-C3X represents a meaningful move toward making EV ownership more flexible and accessible for Indian consumers.
“The all-new ë-C3X combines Citroën’s signature comfort, bold design and practical technology with an innovative BaaS offering to deliver a compelling electric mobility experience tailored for Indian customers,” he said.
SUV-Inspired Design with Practical Family-Focused Packaging
Built on Citroën’s Smart Car Platform, the new ë-C3X features an SUV-inspired silhouette with signature split LED daytime running lamps, LED headlamps, front fog lamps, protective body cladding and 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The electric crossover offers 170 mm ground clearance and a compact 4.98-metre turning radius, making it suitable for both urban commuting and highway journeys.
Inside, the ë-C3X continues Citroën’s focus on comfort and space. The cabin features a 2,450 mm wheelbase, 1,375 mm shoulder room, and a practical 315-litre boot, positioning it as a family-friendly electric vehicle.
The interior receives a refreshed design with Citroën’s new Electric Blu décor theme, dual-tone leatherette upholstery and enhanced comfort-focused seating.
