Maruti Suzuki India Limited Sets Up Advanced Manufacturing Lab at ITI Hassangarh in Haryana
Rohtak/ New Delhi, India, May 26, 2026: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has established an Advanced Manufacturing Lab (AML) at Government ITI Hassangarh in Haryana’s Rohtak district to strengthen skill development and prepare students for the evolving demands of the automotive manufacturing sector.
The initiative has been launched as part of the company’s CSR-led skill development programme and aligns with the Government of India’s Skill India mission aimed at creating a future-ready workforce for the country’s manufacturing ecosystem.
According to the company, nearly 200 students at the institute will receive training in the Smart Factory Lab during the first year.
The Advanced Manufacturing Lab has been designed to replicate real-world automotive shop-floor environments and provide hands-on technical training in key manufacturing processes including assembly, welding, painting, machining, mechatronics and industrial safety.
The company said the practical exposure will help bridge the gap between classroom education and industry requirements while improving students’ technical capabilities and employability.
The inaugural event was attended by Sachin Gupta along with senior officials from Maruti Suzuki India Limited and the institute.
Speaking on the initiative, Rahul Bharti said the company aims to bring industry-grade learning directly into technical education institutions.
“Through the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at Hassangarh, we are bringing real shop-floor learning and modern machinery into classrooms. This initiative, aligned with Skill India mission, equips students with confidence to handle industry-specific processes and nurtures talent for the evolving automotive ecosystem,” Bharti said.
“It is part of our commitment to build a skilled, future-ready workforce for India’s manufacturing sector.”
Sachin Gupta described the initiative as an important milestone in Rohtak’s skill development journey and a contribution towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.
“The establishment of the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at ITI Hassangarh marks a defining milestone in Rohtak’s journey towards becoming a centre of excellence in skill development,” he said.
Gupta added that the introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies and industry-grade infrastructure would strengthen technical education, enhance employability and help create a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting India’s industrial transformation.
