Škoda Epiq Revealed as Brand’s Most Affordable Electric SUV With 440 km Range

Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, May 19, 2026: Škoda Auto has officially unveiled the all-new Škoda Epiq, marking a major step in the company’s electric mobility expansion strategy. Positioned as the brand’s most affordable fully electric vehicle, the compact SUV has been designed to make EV ownership more accessible while still delivering the practicality, technology and spaciousness that Škoda models are known for.

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s new-generation MEB+ electric platform, the Epiq becomes the first Škoda electric vehicle to feature front-wheel drive architecture and full one-pedal driving capability. The new EV also debuts Škoda’s Modern Solid design language in production form, introducing a sharper and more minimalist look defined by clean lines, a glossy black Tech-Deck Face and distinctive T-shaped LED lighting signatures that will feature on future Škoda SUV models.

The Epiq will be offered with two battery pack options and three powertrain variants. The entry-level Epiq 35 produces 85 kW, while the Epiq 40 develops 99 kW. Sitting at the top of the range is the Epiq 55, which generates 155 kW and 290 Nm of torque. Škoda claims the flagship version can deliver a driving range of around 440 kilometres on a single charge, while DC fast charging allows the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 24 minutes. Standard 11 kW AC charging is also included across the range.

The company says the new MEB+ platform uses lighter battery technology to improve energy efficiency while also creating more interior space. The Epiq additionally supports bidirectional charging technologies including Vehicle-to-Load, Vehicle-to-Home and Vehicle-to-Grid functionality, depending on infrastructure compatibility.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Epiq has been engineered with a strong focus on practicality. Measuring 4,171 mm in length, the SUV offers a generous 475-litre luggage compartment, which Škoda says is among the largest in its segment. The vehicle also includes a 25-litre front storage compartment or frunk, along with multiple additional storage spaces throughout the cabin.

Inside, the Epiq adopts a clean and minimalist interior layout centred around a new 13-inch Android-based infotainment system. The system supports Google Maps, Spotify and YouTube integration, while the MyŠkoda connected car app enables remote charging management, climate control functions and access to EV-specific services. The model is also prepared for future Digital Key functionality, allowing smartphones to replace conventional car keys through a later software update.

Škoda has also focused heavily on sustainability inside the cabin. The Epiq is the first production Škoda model to use exclusively animal-free materials, while all textile upholstery is made using recycled polyester fibres. According to the company, more than 34 kilograms of recycled materials have been incorporated into the vehicle.

On the safety front, the Epiq comes equipped with seven airbags as standard along with a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems. Features include Front Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and Predictive Speed Limiter. Buyers can also opt for the latest Travel Assist 3.0 system, which adds advanced semi-autonomous driving functions including traffic jam assistance, emergency assist and intelligent parking technologies.

Shortly after launch, Škoda will also introduce a limited-run Epiq First Edition based on the range-topping Epiq 55 variant. The special edition model will feature exclusive Navajo Orange accents, a contrasting black roof, unique 20-inch alloy wheels and bespoke interior detailing including orange stitching and sports-inspired trim elements.

The Epiq joins the growing electric lineup from Škoda alongside the Škoda Enyaq and Škoda Elroq, and will play a key role in the company’s push into the high-volume compact EV segment. Developed under the Volkswagen Group’s Brand Group Core strategy, the Epiq will share its platform architecture with future models such as the Volkswagen ID. Polo, Volkswagen ID. Cross and the Cupra Raval.
