Hyderabad Riders Rahil Pillarisetty, Rajender Beedani Clinch National Titles at MRF MMSC Indian Motorcycle Racing Championship
Chennai: Hyderabad riders Rahil Pillarisetty and Rajender Beedani finally ended long waits for national glory as they sealed championship titles in their respective categories with a race to spare at the fifth and final round of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) on Saturday.
Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1) wrapped up the premier Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open championship, while Rajender Beedani (MAI Racing) claimed the Stock 165cc (Novice) title, both delivering commanding performances despite tricky track conditions caused by intermittent rain and fading light.
Adding to the title celebrations, Bengaluru’s Varun Patil (Mad Rabbit Racing) sealed the Stock 301-400cc championship, while Raj Kumar (Motul Sparks Racing) from Coimbatore moved to within a single point of the SuperStock Intermediate 165cc title after a hard-fought race.
Rahil Ends Eight-Year Title Drought in Style
The 28-year-old Rahil Pillarisetty, who last won a national title in his debut season in 2017, produced a thrilling ride to win the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open race. Executing a daring move on arch-rival Sarthak Chavan (Petronas TVS Racing) at the final corner of the last lap, Rahil secured his sixth win in nine races to take an unassailable lead in the championship standings.
“This championship is a huge relief after eight years. I stayed calm, watched the TVS riders, and waited for my moment,” said Rahil, who rode despite nursing fever and cold.
Rajender Beedani Fights Back to Seal Title
In the Stock 165cc (Novice) category, 21-year-old Rajender Beedani showed grit and determination. After dropping to fourth early due to contact with another rider, the Hyderabad racer staged a remarkable comeback to take victory — his fifth win of the season — and clinch the national crown.
“This is my fourth season in the championship, and finally winning the title feels special,” said Rajender.
Varun Patil Seals Stock 301-400cc Crown
Veteran racer Varun Patil, popularly known as a “Gentleman Rider,” adopted a calculated approach to finish mid-pack and earn enough points to secure the Stock 301-400cc championship. The race itself was won by Jagadeesh Nagaraj (Motul Sparks Racing), his first win of the season.
Strong Performances Across Categories
Former national champion Ann Jennifer (Motul Sparks Racing) won the Girls (Stock 165cc) race to move into second place in the standings, behind leader Jagathishree Kumaresan (One Racing) heading into Sunday’s season finale.
In the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship, Chennai’s Abdul Basim recorded his maiden win in the Expert (RR 310) category, while Hari Haran R (Coimbatore) sealed the Rookie championship with his seventh victory of the season.
Due to light rain and fading visibility, the Pro-Stock 200cc Open race was postponed to Sunday morning.
