Chiranth Vishwanath Completes Double at MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W in Chennai

Chennai, India, November 1, 2026: Bengaluru’s 19-year-old Chiranth Vishwanath produced another impressive performance to complete a double in the premier Super Sport 301-400cc Open class as the third round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W 2026 concluded at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Sunday.

The Petronas TVS Racing rider held off team-mate and arch-rival Sarthak Chavan of Pune for the second consecutive day, capping a successful weekend with two victories in the premier category. Chiranth had also won Saturday’s Race 1 with a record lap time.

The six-lap race on Sunday turned out to be one of the most exciting contests of the weekend, with sharp afternoon showers delaying the start by around 30 minutes and adding another dimension to the challenge.

Chiranth, Sarthak and their younger Petronas TVS Racing team-mate Rakshith Dave exchanged the lead several times in a closely fought contest. Rakshith initially looked set for victory after establishing a comfortable lead, but a near-slip while negotiating a puddle of water cost him three positions.

The youngster eventually finished fourth, behind Mohamed Mikail of MadRabbit Racing from Thiruvallur.

At the front, Chiranth and Sarthak continued their intense battle, with the decisive moment arriving in the closing stages. Sarthak had a moment that cost him position, allowing Chiranth to make his move and take the lead. The Bengaluru rider maintained his advantage to secure his second victory of the weekend, while Sarthak once again settled for second place.

Savion Sabu leads MadRabbit Racing podium sweep

Bengaluru’s 19-year-old Savion Sabu also enjoyed a memorable weekend, securing a double in the Pro-Stock 200cc Open class and leading a maiden podium sweep for MadRabbit Racing.

Savion successfully defended his position against strong challenges from team-mates Mohamed Mikail of Thiruvallur and Bengaluru’s AS James, who completed the podium behind him.

The weekend also witnessed double victories for two other riders. Coimbatore’s Senthil Kumar of Rockers Racing completed a double in the Super Stock 301-400cc Open class, while Chennai’s Anandhu KK of Veedol C2 Racing achieved the same feat in the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate category.

Venugopalan scores maiden win in Stock 301-400cc Novice

Local challenger Venugopalan S of Motul Sparks Racing registered his maiden victory in the highly competitive Stock 301-400cc Novice class.

The battle for the podium remained wide open until the final lap, when Venugopalan surged ahead to take the chequered flag. Trichy’s Kavicholaiarasan of Speed Up Racing finished second, followed by Shyam Sundar of M3 Torque Motorsports in third.

Pothu Vignesh maintains lead in TVS One-Make Championship

In the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship, Mancherial’s Pothu Vignesh from Telangana secured his third victory in six starts in the Experts category.
