MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2026: Krishay Gutte, Ishaan Madesh Share F2000 Wins at Chennai
Chennai, India, October 12, 2026: Krishay Gutte of Mumbai and Bengaluru’s Ishaan Madesh shared the spoils in the MRF Formula 2000 category as Round 3 of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 4W – 2026 concluded at the Madras International Circuit on Sunday. In the MRF Formula 1600 class, Delhi’s Shivansh Bejoy secured his maiden victory, while Chennai’s Gyan S also claimed a race win on a dramatic final day.
The weekend witnessed several changes in fortunes across categories, with championship leader Saishiva Sankaran of Pune missing out on a victory in the three races contested over the weekend. Despite the setback, Sankaran retained his position at the top of the MRF Formula 2000 standings.
Krishay Gutte, Ishaan Madesh Win in MRF Formula 2000
Gutte enjoyed a memorable outing in the premier MRF Formula 2000 category, securing his first victory of the 2026 season after holding off Madesh in Race 2 on Sunday.
Madesh responded in the following race, claiming his second win of the weekend to underline his pace at the Chennai circuit. The Bengaluru racer had also been involved in an incident with Sankaran in the opening race of the day.
Sankaran, who had arrived at the round on the back of five consecutive race victories, endured a difficult Sunday. A five-second penalty following his collision with Madesh dropped him from first to third in the day’s opening race.
Despite failing to win any of the three races this weekend, Sankaran continues to lead the championship standings comfortably. His consistency over the opening rounds has ensured that he remains the driver to beat as the season heads into its next phase.
Shivansh Bejoy Scores Maiden MRF Formula 1600 Victory
The MRF Formula 1600 category also produced two different winners, with Shivansh Bejoy and Gyan S sharing the honours.
Bejoy celebrated his maiden victory in the class, marking an important milestone in his racing career. Chennai’s Gyan S added another home success by winning the other race, continuing his competitive form in the category.
The results highlighted the depth of competition in the Formula 1600 field, with the drivers continuing to battle for valuable championship points at the Madras International Circuit.
Viswas Vijayaraj Extends Winning Streak to Nine in Formula LGB 1300
Viswas Vijayaraj produced another dominant performance in the Formula LGB 1300 (Open) category, completing his third consecutive triple crown of the season for DTS Racing.
The 27-year-old businessman from Nellore extended his unbeaten run to nine consecutive race victories after sweeping all three races at the Chennai round. His remarkable consistency has made him the standout performer in the category through the first three rounds.
Reflecting on his achievement, Vijayaraj said: “It feels great to win nine races in a row and remain unbeaten after three rounds. Now that we have a three-month break before the next round in January, I will work on my fitness.”
The extended break will provide Vijayaraj with an opportunity to prepare for the remaining rounds as he looks to maintain his perfect record.
Augustine Boby Makes Winning Debut in Junior Formula LGB 1300
In the Junior category, 16-year-old Augustine Boby of Noida made an impressive debut for DTS Racing, securing a double victory.
However, Sri Lankan racer Kaveen Rajapaksa of Momentum Motorsports strengthened his position at the top of the championship standings after recording three podium finishes during the weekend.
Rajapaksa’s consistent results proved crucial in safeguarding his championship lead, despite Boby’s strong debut performance.
Diljith TS and Aakash Vivek Complete Doubles
Thrissur’s Diljith TS of DTS Racing enjoyed a successful weekend in the Super Stock category, completing a double with two race victories.
Chennai’s Aakash Vivek also secured two wins in the MRF Saloons category. However, his bid for a clean sweep was stopped by fellow Chennai racer Alisha Abdulla, who won Race 2.
