New Maruti Suzuki Baleno Launched in India with Level 2 ADAS; Prices Start at ₹6.09 Lakh

Bengaluru, India, September 5, 2026: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced the Stunning New Baleno, bringing a major update to its premium hatchback with refreshed styling, new technology and enhanced safety features. The latest Maruti Suzuki Baleno gets Level 2 ADAS with radar and camera technology, ventilated front seats with plush leatherette upholstery, and an updated Z12E engine.

Bookings for the new Baleno are now open across NEXA dealerships in India for a booking amount of ₹11,000. Prices for the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno start at ₹6,09,900 (ex-showroom).

The new Baleno has been developed around Maruti Suzuki’s ‘Dare to go Glam’ philosophy, targeting young urban customers with a more premium design and a broader technology package.

New Maruti Suzuki Baleno Gets Updated Exterior Design

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno receives a significantly revised front-end design, headlined by an updated version of NEXA’s signature NEXWave grille.

The wider grille features prominent 3D patterns and horizontal chrome slats, giving the premium hatchback a broader and more substantial road presence. The front fascia is complemented by a newly sculpted bumper and redesigned lower grille.

The new Baleno also gets a chrome-accented fender garnish, NEXTre’ LED DRLs and a shark-fin antenna, further enhancing its premium styling.

Maruti Suzuki will offer the new Baleno in seven colour options, including the new Enigmatic Teal shade. The new colour has been inspired by the depths of the sea and digital fusion.

Level 2 ADAS Introduced in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno

One of the biggest changes to the new Baleno is the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) using a combination of radar and camera technology.

The ADAS package includes:

  • Advanced Emergency Braking (AEB)
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Lane Departure Prevention
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • High Beam Assist
  • Vehicle Sway Warning
  • Forward Collision Warning

Maruti Suzuki says the system is designed to provide enhanced driver assistance and improve driving safety.

The new Baleno also comes with a range of standard safety features under the NEXA Safety Shield package. These include six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Stop Signal, Hill Hold Control, reverse parking sensors, three-point seat belts and seat-belt reminders.

The hatchback also introduces a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

New Baleno Gets Ventilated Front Seats and Premium Interior

The cabin of the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been upgraded with a dual-tone interior featuring piano-black inserts.

A key addition is the segment-first ventilated front seats with plush leatherette upholstery, aimed at improving comfort, particularly in India’s hot weather conditions.

Other new features include a Premium Sound System by Clarion, a Qi-certified wireless smartphone charger with active cooling and the continuation of premium features such as a 360-degree camera and Head-Up Display (HUD).

The dashboard houses a 22.86 cm (9-inch) SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with a high-definition display. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new Baleno also gets Suzuki Connect, offering more than 40 connected-car functions covering vehicle safety and security, trip information, driving behaviour, vehicle status alerts and remote operations through the Suzuki Connect app.

New Maruti Suzuki Baleno Gets Advanced Z12E Engine

Powering the new Baleno is Maruti Suzuki’s Advanced Z12E petrol engine, developing a maximum power output of 61 kW at 5,700 rpm and peak torque of 112.4 Nm at 4,500 rpm.

The engine comes equipped with Idle Start-Stop technology and Dual VVT, with Maruti Suzuki focusing on improved efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions.

Transmission options include a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) and Auto Gear Shift (AGS).

According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Baleno delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of:

The MT and AGS petrol versions are claimed to deliver 6.4% and 7.9% improvements in fuel efficiency, respectively, compared with the outgoing model.

The Baleno S-CNG continues with the Z12E engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and claims 33.61 km/kg, representing a 9.8% improvement over its predecessor.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno Continues NEXA’s Premium Hatchback Push

Commenting on the launch, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the Baleno has been a key model for NEXA and the premium hatchback segment for a decade.

According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Baleno is intended to raise expectations in the segment through features such as Level 2 ADAS and the updated NEXWave grille, while targeting younger customers seeking a more distinctive and premium vehicle.

With the new Level 2 ADAS, ventilated leatherette front seats, updated styling, connected-car technology and the Z12E powertrain, the 2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno represents a substantial technology and feature upgrade for one of India’s established premium hatchbacks.
