Škoda Octavia RS Returns to India With Second Limited Batch of 50 Units at ₹56.69 Lakh

Mumbai, India, September 4, 2026: Škoda Auto India has announced the return of the Octavia RS to the Indian market with a second limited batch of just 50 units. Priced at ₹56.69 lakh (ex-showroom), the performance sedan is being brought back following the overwhelming response to the first batch introduced during the 2025 festive season.

Bookings for the second batch of the Škoda Octavia RS opened on August 18, when the performance sedan was showcased at the company’s Sedan Legacy event alongside the new Slavia and the all-new Superb.

The return of the Octavia RS comes as the globally popular Octavia nameplate celebrates 30 years, while the RS badge itself carries more than five decades of performance heritage.

Škoda Octavia RS: 265 PS and 250 km/h Top Speed

At the heart of the Octavia RS is a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing 195 kW (265 PS) and 370 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The performance sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, while its top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Škoda has also equipped the Octavia RS with progressive steering, sports suspension and an advanced chassis setup aimed at delivering sharper handling and a more engaging driving experience.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said the Octavia RS has become an icon among Indian driving enthusiasts, with demand for the first batch significantly exceeding availability.

He added that the second limited batch is intended to give more customers the opportunity to own the performance-oriented nameplate as the Octavia celebrates three decades globally.

Sportier Design With 19-Inch Alloy Wheels

The Octavia RS gets a more aggressive exterior design compared with the standard sedan, combining Škoda’s latest design language with several performance-focused elements.

Key exterior highlights include Full LED Matrix headlights, LED tail lamps with dynamic indicators, glossy black styling elements and 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels wrapped in 225/40 R19 sports tyres.

The sedan measures 4,709 mm in length, 1,829 mm in width and 1,457 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,677 mm.

Despite its performance credentials, practicality remains a major part of the Octavia RS package. The sedan offers a 600-litre boot, which can be expanded to 1,555 litres with the rear seats folded.

The second batch will be offered in three exterior colours: Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black.

Premium Cabin With Sports Seats and 32.77 cm Infotainment System

Inside, the Octavia RS combines a sporty cabin with features aimed at making it suitable for everyday use.

The cabin gets Suedia Leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, while the electrically adjustable Sports front seats feature memory, heating and massage functions. Other highlights include ambient lighting and a Virtual Cockpit.

The equipment list also includes three-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging and a 32.77 cm infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

For audiophiles, Škoda offers a Canton 675W 11-speaker sound system with subwoofer.

ADAS, 10 Airbags and 360-Degree Camera

The Octavia RS also gets an extensive safety and driver-assistance package.

Its ADAS suite includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Assist and Intelligent Park Assist. The sedan is further equipped with 10 airbags, a 360-degree Area View camera, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and a Head-Up Display.

Other convenience features include an electrically operated boot with virtual pedal, driving stability systems and several of Škoda’s Simply Clever features.

Škoda Octavia RS: A 50-Year Performance Legacy

The RS badge has its roots in Škoda’s motorsport history. RS, or Rally Sport, was first used on the 180 RS and 200 RS prototypes in 1974. The badge subsequently became associated with the company’s competition successes, particularly the iconic 130 RS, which recorded a class victory at the 1977 Rallye Monte-Carlo.

Škoda introduced the RS badge to a production car for the first time in 2000 with the Octavia RS.

In India, the Octavia RS nameplate arrived in 2004, becoming the country’s first turbocharged petrol car. The performance lineage subsequently continued with models such as the Laura RS, Octavia RS 230 and Octavia RS 245.

The latest Octavia RS builds on that legacy with 265 PS, a 250 km/h top speed and a large 600-litre boot, offering a combination of performance and everyday practicality.

Škoda Octavia RS Price and Ownership Package

The Škoda Octavia RS is priced at ₹56.69 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. With only 50 units allocated for the second batch, availability is expected to remain highly limited.

The car is covered by Škoda Auto India’s ownership package, which includes a 4-year/100,000 km warranty, four years of complimentary Roadside Assistance and four labour-free services.
