New Skoda Slavia Unveiled in India with Segment-First Features and New 8-Speed Automatic

Mumbai, India, August 19, 2026: Å koda Auto India has unveiled the new Skoda Slavia in India, bringing a series of styling, technology, comfort and powertrain updates to its popular sedan. The updated Slavia also marks the introduction of the Monte Carlo variant from launch, along with several segment-first features.

The new Slavia has been unveiled alongside the all-new Skoda Superb and the Octavia RS, marking a renewed focus on sedans as part of Å koda Auto India’s product strategy. The Slavia has recorded nearly 80,000 sales in India to date.

Pre-bookings for the new Skoda Slavia have opened at ₹15,000.

New Skoda Slavia gets updated styling

The new Slavia retains the core design language of the existing sedan but receives several exterior updates.

The sedan gets all-new LED headlamps and taillamps with sequential rear turn indicators, while a new chrome strip across the grille adds a more distinctive appearance. Revised front and rear structures, along with new alloy wheel designs, further update the Slavia’s exterior.

For the first time, the Monte Carlo trim will be available on the Slavia from launch. The range will also include Classic, Classic+, Signature, Sportline and Prestige variants.

The new Slavia will be offered in colours including Candy White, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, Lava Blue, Deep Black, Cherry Red, Shimla Green and Steel Grey. Two new shades, Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige, have also been added.

New 1.0 TSI gets 8-speed automatic transmission

One of the biggest changes to the new Skoda Slavia is the introduction of an all-new eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission with the 1.0 TSI engine.

According to Å koda, this makes the Slavia the first sedan in its segment to offer a 1.0-litre TSI engine with an eight-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.0 TSI engine will also continue to be available with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The more powerful 1.5 TSI engine continues with the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. The 1.5 TSI variants now also receive rear disc brakes.

Segment-first rear-seat massage and 360-degree camera

The updated Slavia receives a number of technology and comfort upgrades, including a segment-first Rear Seat Massage function.

Another major addition is a 360-degree Area View camera, which Å koda says is a first for a vehicle developed under its India 2.0 programme. The system is designed to improve visibility while parking and during low-speed manoeuvres.

The sedan also gets Park Pilot with front parking sensors and a larger 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit.

From the Classic+ variant upwards, features include rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger, all-LED lighting, an auto-dimming IRVM, electric sunroof and alloy wheels as standard.

Skoda Slavia gets Google Cloud-powered AI assistant

The new Slavia also introduces an upgraded infotainment system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The system incorporates an advanced voice assistant powered by Google Cloud’s Automotive AI Agent. The technology brings Gemini into the vehicle and provides context-aware voice assistance.

The AI assistant can provide access to real-time information while also enabling hands-free control of functions such as music, calls and climate control. The system has also been developed to recognise Indian English accents, according to Å koda.

New Slavia continues with 5-star safety credentials

Safety remains a key focus of the updated Slavia.

The sedan carries forward its 5-star Global NCAP safety credentials for adult and child occupant protection. More than 25 active and passive safety features, including six airbags, are standard across the range, while higher variants offer more than 40 safety features.

The updated model also features equipment such as automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger, an auto-dimming IRVM and anti-glare ORVMs.

Skoda Octavia RS and Superb TDI showcased

Alongside the new Slavia, Å koda Auto India has also showcased the all-new Octavia RS and the Superb TDI, marking the return of both nameplates to the Indian market.

The Octavia RS gets a 2.0 TSI engine producing 265 PS (195 kW), paired with a seven-speed DSG gearbox. Other features include sports front seats with power adjustment, heating and massage, a Head-Up Display, ADAS and progressive dynamic steering.

Octavia RS pre-bookings are limited to 50 units, with bookings priced at ₹2.50 lakh. Deliveries are scheduled to begin around the start of the festive season.

Meanwhile, the Skoda Superb TDI marks the return of a diesel powertrain to the luxury sedan. It features LED Matrix headlamps, Cognac leather interiors, electrically adjustable heated and ventilated front seats with massage function, a Rear Sleep Package, Dynamic Chassis Control and ADAS features.

Deliveries of the Superb TDI are scheduled to begin towards the end of Q2 2027, according to the company.

Skoda Super Care package offered across new sedans

Å koda Auto India is also offering its Å koda Super Care ownership package with the new Slavia, Octavia RS and Superb.

The package includes a standard four-year/100,000-km warranty, four years of roadside assistance and four free labour services for up to two years or 30,000 km.
