Nissan Launches GRAVITE CNG Retrofit Kit with Twin-Cylinder Technology in India

Bengaluru, India, May 4, 2026: Nissan Motor India Private Limited has announced the launch of a government-approved CNG retro fitment kit for the All-New Nissan GRAVITE, introducing a segment-first smart twin-cylinder technology that retains full 7-seater modularity and practicality.

Priced at an introductory ₹82,999, the CNG kit is now available across 16 states through Nissan’s authorised dealer network, offering customers a more economical and environmentally conscious mobility solution.

Smart Twin-Cylinder Technology Retains 7-Seater Practicality

The highlight of the Nissan GRAVITE CNG is its innovative twin-cylinder setup, designed to preserve cabin space while ensuring usability of the third row—an area where many CNG vehicles typically compromise.

The retrofitment kit has been developed and manufactured by Motozen and comes with a 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty on kit components via a third-party provider.

Customers can opt for installation directly through authorised Nissan dealerships, ensuring a seamless and reliable purchase experience.

Focus on Lower Running Costs and Everyday Usability

The GRAVITE CNG aims to deliver “Smart Power with Smarter Savings,” significantly reducing running costs per kilometre compared to petrol variants. This makes it particularly attractive for high-usage customers such as families managing daily commutes, school runs, and intercity travel.

In addition to cost efficiency, the model supports cleaner mobility, contributing to reduced emissions in urban environments.

Executive Commentary

Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President – Middle East, KSA, CIS and India, Nissan and Infiniti, said the launch reinforces India’s importance as a strategic market.

“With GRAVITE CNG, we are extending a proven, practical solution to customers seeking family-focused space, everyday mobility, and lower running costs in key CNG markets.”

Saurabh Vatsa added that the introduction builds on the positive response to earlier CNG offerings and strengthens Nissan’s value proposition in the 7-seater segment.

Key Technical Highlights

The CNG system has been engineered to deliver performance, safety, and efficiency without compromising comfort. Key features include:

  • Sequential BS6.2-compliant CNG kit
  • ICAT-approved system for safety and reliability
  • Heavy-duty cylinders with 8.1 mm thickness
  • Advanced Dynamic Advancer Technology
