Kia India Inaugurates 500th Service Workshop in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, April 24, 2026: Kia India has achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of its 500th service workshop in India, located in Chandkheda, Ahmedabad. The new facility marks a major step in the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its after-sales ecosystem while enhancing convenience, transparency, and trust for its growing base of over 1.5 million customers across the country.
The milestone underscores Kia India’s commitment to placing customers at the core of its operations. Beyond sheer scale, the expansion reflects the brand’s focus on delivering a seamless ownership experience, guided by its global philosophy of “Movement that Inspires.” With over 800 service touchpoints, including mobile service units, spread across 391 cities, Kia India continues to build one of the most extensive after-sales networks in the Indian automotive industry.
The newly inaugurated workshop, operated by West Coast Kia, is among the largest Kia service facilities in the country. Spread across 76,069 sq. ft., including 41,640 sq. ft. of covered area, the state-of-the-art workshop has been designed for high throughput and operational efficiency. It features 57 service bays, including eight dedicated washing and mopping bays, along with 100 parking bays to ensure smooth vehicle movement. Staffed by a team of 90 trained professionals, the facility has the capacity to service up to 40,000 vehicles annually, significantly boosting service accessibility in the region.
Commenting on the milestone, Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India, said the inauguration of the 500th workshop reflects the company’s deep commitment to customer-centricity. He emphasized that the achievement is not just about expanding the network but about ensuring every Kia customer experiences convenience, transparency, and trust throughout their ownership journey, while the company continues to build a future-ready and digitally enabled after-sales ecosystem.
Echoing similar sentiments, Baljeet Singh Bagga, Dealer Principal at West Coast Kia, stated that reaching the 500-workshop milestone is a matter of immense pride and highlights the strong partnership between the dealer group and Kia India. He added that the new facility represents a meaningful step in bringing the brand closer to customers while enhancing service accessibility and elevating overall ownership experience in the region.
The Chandkheda facility also introduces several advanced and customer-focused features. These include a dedicated ‘Shine Zone’ offering premium exterior care services such as ceramic coating, as well as EV-ready infrastructure equipped with a 90 kW DC fast charger capable of supporting dual vehicle charging. The workshop is integrated with digital and contactless service processes, including RFID-enabled systems, real-time service updates, and digital vehicle health reports, further enhancing transparency and efficiency. Customers can also monitor their vehicle servicing remotely through the My Kia App, alongside other ownership solutions such as extended warranty packages, roadside assistance, and doorstep accessory delivery.
Sustainability remains a key pillar of Kia India’s expansion strategy. Developed under the company’s Green Workshop initiative, the new facility incorporates eco-conscious practices such as a 145 kW solar power generation system, rainwater harvesting infrastructure, and advanced water recycling processes. Kia India has already established 124 green workshops across the country, collectively generating 8.90 MW of solar energy, reinforcing its commitment to responsible growth.
In line with this sustainability vision, West Coast Kia has also launched a large-scale environmental initiative to plant 10,000 trees across Ahmedabad in collaboration with local authorities. The initiative was inaugurated by Gwanggu Lee, highlighting the company’s focus on community development alongside business expansion.
With the inauguration of its 500th service workshop, Kia India continues to strengthen its nationwide after-sales network while advancing toward a more connected, digital, and EV-ready ecosystem, ensuring a consistent and elevated ownership experience for customers across India.
