Kinetic Engineering Marks Return to Two-Wheelers with Launch of Iconic Kinetic DX EV and DX+ Electric Scooters

In a landmark move that marks its return to the two-wheeler market, Kinetic Engineering Ltd. (KEL) has launched the all-new Kinetic DX EV, a made-in-India electric scooter, through its EV manufacturing subsidiary Kinetic Watts and Volts Ltd. (KWV). Celebrated for its iconic design and practicality across generations, the DX returns as an advanced electric scooter, blending the brand’s storied legacy with cutting-edge technology for today’s digital-first consumers.

Designed in collaboration with Italian stylists, the DX EV reimagines the original DNA of the beloved DX with contemporary aesthetics, segment-first features, and a strong focus on utility—making it a compelling family vehicle for the modern era.

Segment-First Features Enhance Everyday Ride Experience

The DX and DX+ variants bring several segment-first innovations to the Indian EV market. These include Easy Key for keyless operation, Easy Flip, a one-touch pillion footrest for added comfort, and Easy Charge—a patented retractable charging cable exclusive to the DX+ model for effortless plug-ins at home or on the go.

The DX EV also impresses with its full metal body, a spacious floorboard, and the largest-in-class 37-litre under-seat storage, accommodating one full and one half helmet with additional room for daily essentials.

Performance That’s Built to Last

Under the seat, the DX+ is powered by a 2.6 kWh LFP battery made by Range-X, offering up to 3500 charge cycles—nearly four times the lifespan of conventional NMC batteries, making it a safer and more thermally stable choice for Indian conditions. Thanks to Kinetic’s proprietary K-Coast regenerative braking technology and a 60V system, the DX+ delivers an impressive IDC range of 116 km on a single charge.

Performance is further amplified by a peppy motor that reaches speeds of up to 90 km/h, with three distinct ride modes: Range, Power, and Turbo. Both variants come equipped with reverse assist and hill-hold features, enhancing their usability in urban and inclined environments. Suspension duties are handled by front telescopic forks and adjustable rear shocks, while braking is managed by a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake with combi-braking system (CBS).

Smart Features Redefine Connectivity

In a bid to make the scooter smarter and more user-friendly, Kinetic introduces the My Kiney mobile app, available with both variants. The higher-spec DX+ adds a suite of Telekinetic features such as real-time ride data, geo-fencing, intruder alerts, vehicle tracking, and Find My Kinetic.

A unique addition is the My Kiney Companion Voice Alerts, where the scooter greets the user, alerts them about system diagnostics, and even wishes them on their birthday. Riders can also enjoy music and voice-guided navigation via built-in speakers and a Bluetooth-connected infotainment system. Both variants also feature a Kinetic Assist switch for instant CRM support.

Prices, Colours and Booking Details

The Kinetic DX is priced at ₹1,11,499 and the DX+ at ₹1,17,499 (both ex-showroom, Pune). Customers can book their scooters online at www.kineticev.in with a token amount of just ₹1,000. Deliveries will begin in September 2025, and bookings are limited to 35,000 units in the first batch.

The DX+ will be available in five colour options—Red, Blue, White, Silver, and Black, while the DX will be offered in Silver and Black.

Strong Investment Signals Long-Term Commitment

KWV has been capitalized with ₹72 crore by KEL and its promoters. In a show of confidence, an additional ₹177 crore has been pledged by the promoters, with a large portion earmarked for scaling the DX EV platform and expanding KWV’s footprint in the electric mobility space.
