Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Launched in India at Introductory Price of ₹46.99 Lakh

Mumbai, February 19, 2026: Volkswagen India has launched the all-new Volkswagen Tayron R-Line at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹46.99 lakh, marking a significant addition to its premium SUV portfolio in India. 

Positioned as a versatile luxury SUV for discerning Indian buyers, the Tayron R-Line blends progressive design, dynamic performance, advanced technology and premium comfort. With bold R-Line styling and precision German engineering, the SUV aims to strengthen Volkswagen’s aspirational offerings in the country.

Performance: 2.0L TSI Engine with 4MOTION AWD

The Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EA888 evo4 petrol engine producing 204 PS and 320 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.

The SUV also features driving profile selection with six modes, enabling drivers to tailor performance to varying road conditions.

Advanced Safety: 14 Level 2 ADAS Features and 9 Airbags

A major highlight of the Tayron R-Line is its comprehensive safety package. The SUV is equipped with 14 Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) functions, along with:

• 9 airbags
• Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
• Hill Ascent and Hill Descent Control

This positions the Tayron R-Line as one of the most safety-focused luxury SUVs in its segment.

• 30 shades of ambient lighting with illuminated R insert

• 3-zone Climatronic automatic AC

Front seats come with 12-way electric adjustment, memory function (up to three settings), heating, ventilation, 8-mode massage and lumbar support. The second-row seats feature sliding and reclining functions for added comfort.

The SUV also gets an 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with 700W output, dual 45W USB-C charging ports and wireless charging for two compatible smartphones.
