Cadillac Formula 1 Team Unveils Maiden 2026 Livery in Historic Super Bowl Reveal
Santa Clara / New York – February 2026: The Cadillac Formula 1 Team has officially unveiled the livery of its first-ever Formula 1 challenger, marking a landmark moment ahead of its highly anticipated debut as the sport’s 11th team in the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
The striking black-and-white livery was revealed to a global audience during a national television advertisement aired at Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. With an estimated viewership exceeding 130 million, the Super Bowl provided an unprecedented platform for Cadillac to announce its arrival on Formula 1’s biggest stage, underscoring a bold new era of American participation in the sport.
Shortly after the broadcast, a full-scale replica of the Cadillac Formula 1® Team car was unveiled in Times Square, New York City, offering fans an up-close look at the design in one of the world’s most iconic and heavily trafficked locations.
The dual-tone livery features one black side and one white side, united by a dynamic gradient inspired by Cadillac’s signature chevron motif. The asymmetrical design philosophy reflects a yin-and-yang balance, blending grit, performance, and determination with aspiration, optimism, and ambition. Though visually minimalist, the gradient evokes speed even when the car is stationary, paying homage to both modern design and Cadillac heritage.
The livery reveal film was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sam Piling and scored by renowned composer Max Richter, adding cinematic depth and emotional resonance to the launch. The creative approach reinforced the team’s ambition to merge performance engineering with cultural impact.
“This livery represents far more than a paint scheme; it represents who we are and what we bring to Formula 1,” said Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac Formula 1® Team Holdings. “Every detail is intentional—bold, modern, and unmistakably American—while respecting the heritage and precision that define this sport.”
General Motors President Mark Reuss highlighted the significance of the moment for the company, calling the reveal a major milestone in GM’s journey to the Formula 1 grid. “The momentum is building toward Melbourne and our Grand Prix debut,” he said. “This race car showcases the American innovation, spirit, and pride we want to bring to the global stage of Formula 1.”
The Cadillac Formula 1 Team will contest all 24 races of the 2026 season, including three Grands Prix on American soil: Miami (May 1–3), Austin at the Circuit of The Americas (October 23–25), and the Las Vegas Strip Circuit (November 20–22). The team’s first competitive appearance will come at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne from March 6–8.
Team Principal Graeme Lowdon described the livery reveal as a defining moment in the project’s evolution, noting the team’s decision to launch its identity at one of the world’s most culturally significant sporting events. The team operates from bases in Indianapolis and Charlotte in the United States, and Silverstone in the United Kingdom, and has been built through a partnership between TWG Motorsports and General Motors.
On track, Cadillac’s debut campaign will be led by an experienced driver lineup featuring Sergio “Checo” Pérez and Valtteri Bottas as its first full-time Grand Prix drivers. Together, the pair bring 526 Formula 1 starts, 106 podiums, and 16 race victories. Zhou Guanyu will serve as Reserve Driver, while nine-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES race winner Colton Herta joins as Test Driver alongside his Formula 2 campaign with Hitech TGR.
With its bold visual identity, high-profile launch, and seasoned driver roster, the Cadillac Formula 1 Team has firmly announced its intent to be a major new force when it enters the Formula 1 grid in 2026.
