Audi Revolut F1 Team Signs Freddie Slater as First Driver in New Development Programme

Hinwil, Switzerland – January 26, 2026: Audi Revolut F1 Team has announced karting and junior single-seater standout Freddie Slater as the first official member of the Audi Driver Development Programme, marking a key milestone in Audi’s long-term strategy ahead of its entry into the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Widely regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in global motorsport, the British driver will compete in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Trident Motorsport, supported and guided by Audi’s newly established driver development structure.

Slater’s rapid rise through the junior ranks has been defined by consistent success across multiple disciplines. After dominating international karting with titles in the CIK-FIA Karting World and European Championships, he transitioned seamlessly into single-seaters, claiming both the UAE Formula 4 and Italian Formula 4 championships. Most recently, Slater impressed in the fiercely contested Formula Regional European Championship, securing multiple race victories, rookie-of-the-year honours and the overall title—demonstrating race craft and composure beyond his years.

His signing represents the first tangible step of the Audi Driver Development Programme, which is led by Audi motorsport legend Allan McNish. The initiative is designed to identify, nurture and integrate elite young drivers into the Audi motorsport ecosystem as the manufacturer continues to build its works Formula One team.
