Honda Unveils New ‘H’ Mark to Symbolise Transformation of Its Automobile Business
Tokyo: Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced the adoption of a newly refreshed ‘H’ mark, which will serve as the official symbol of Honda’s automobile business, marking a major milestone in the company’s transformation as it accelerates toward electrification and intelligent mobility.
First introduced in 1963, the iconic H mark has long represented Honda’s automobile products and business activities, evolving through several design updates over the decades. The latest redesign reflects Honda’s renewed commitment to innovation as the global automotive industry undergoes a profound shift toward electric vehicles (EVs) and advanced technologies.
New H Mark Aligned with Honda’s Next-Generation EV Strategy
The refreshed H mark has been developed alongside Honda’s next-generation electric vehicle programme, including the Honda 0 Series, which is being created with the philosophy of “starting from zero”—a return to Honda’s origins as an automaker while reimagining mobility for the future.
According to Honda, the new design symbolises the company’s determination to go beyond its origins, continuously taking on new challenges and driving advancement. The H mark’s expression—resembling two outstretched hands—represents Honda’s commitment to expanding the possibilities of mobility and sincerely serving the evolving needs of customers worldwide.
Rollout Across EVs, Hybrids and Customer Touchpoints from 2027
Honda confirmed that the new H mark will be applied to next-generation EVs and hybrid-electric (HEV) models, starting with vehicles scheduled to be introduced from 2027 onwards. Beyond vehicles, Honda will also expand the use of the new emblem across the entire automobile business ecosystem.
This includes:

- Dealership signage and retail environments
- Brand communications and marketing initiatives
- Automobile motorsports activities
The move ensures a unified visual identity as Honda transitions into its next phase of growth.
