Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Records Strongest-Ever Performance in 2025 with 117,000 Domestic Sales
New Delhi: Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) closed calendar year 2025 with one of its strongest performances to date, driven by a resilient recovery in the Indian auto industry and sustained demand across segments. The Group reported its highest-ever domestic sales of 117,000 units, registering an impressive 36 per cent year-on-year growth, while cumulative sales stood at 159,500 units, including exports.
The strong performance capped a milestone year for SAVWIPL, as the Group crossed two million Made-in-India vehicles, highlighting the growing scale, localisation and maturity of its manufacturing operations in the country.
MQB-A0-IN Platform Drives Growth
At the heart of SAVWIPL’s growth story is the MQB-A0-IN platform, developed specifically for Indian market conditions. The platform now underpins all locally manufactured Škoda and Volkswagen models and continues to play a critical role in enabling efficiency, quality and scale.
In line with its internationalisation strategy, the Group also crossed a significant export milestone, with cumulative exports surpassing 715,000 units. India has emerged as a strategic global production base, with SAVWIPL expanding its footprint into new markets across the GCC and ASEAN regions.
Strong Brand Performance Across the Portfolio
Volkswagen maintained its leadership in the premium sedan segment, with the Virtus commanding a 38 per cent year-to-date market share. The launch of the Golf GTI also saw strong demand, with the first batch selling out within days.
Škoda recorded 107 per cent growth in 2025, driven by strong demand for the sub-4-metre Kylaq and the much-anticipated return of the Octavia RS, reinforcing the brand’s loyal customer base in India.
The Group also expanded its retail and service footprint, increasing customer touchpoints to 700 outlets across brands, ensuring wider reach and enhanced aftersales support nationwide.
Luxury and Performance Brands Expand Presence
SAVWIPL’s luxury and performance portfolio also witnessed key developments in 2025. Audi introduced the Q7 Signature Edition, Q3 and Q5 Signature Lines, along with the award-winning RSQ8 Performance. Lamborghinilaunched the Temerario, while the Revuelto was named Super Car of the Year. Porsche expanded its presence to 13 points of sale, adding new experiential formats to deepen customer engagement.
Further strengthening its multi-brand strategy, Bentley joined SAVWIPL as the sixth brand, inaugurating new dealerships in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the performance, Piyush Arora, Managing Director & CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said 2025 marked a year of purposeful and broad-based progress for the Group. He highlighted that consistent execution, a strong Make-in-India strategy, deeper localisation and a robust product pipeline have driven growth across manufacturing, sales and exports.
