IBM Commits to Skill 5 Million Learners in India in AI, Cybersecurity and Quantum Computing by 2030
New Delhi, India: IBM has announced a major long-term commitment to skill 5 million learners across India by 2030 in high-demand technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, and Quantum Computing. The initiative will be delivered through IBM SkillsBuild, the company’s global digital learning platform, and aims to create a future-ready and inclusive workforce.
The announcement reinforces IBM’s mission to democratize access to advanced digital skills, improve employability, and prepare students and adult learners for the evolving demands of the global technology economy.
Expanding AI and Emerging Technology Education Across India
As part of the initiative, IBM will significantly expand AI and emerging technology education across schools, universities, vocational institutions, and skilling ecosystems in India. The program will focus on both learners and educators, ensuring scalable and sustainable impact.
IBM will collaborate with key national institutions such as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)to:
- Develop hands-on AI learning pathways
- Enable faculty training and certification
- Support curriculum integration
- Organise hackathons, internships, and experiential learning programmes

These initiatives are designed to introduce computational thinking and responsible AI principles early, while empowering teachers to deliver AI education confidently and at scale.
