Citroën India Records Strong H2 2025 Growth as Q4 Sales Triple on ‘Citroën 2.0’ Strategy
New Delhi: Citroën India has reported strong growth momentum in the second half of 2025, with Q4 sales trending nearly three times higher than Q3, driven by the successful rollout of its Citroën 2.0 – “Shift Into The New” strategy. The strategy, formally unveiled in August 2025, outlines a long-term roadmap focused on deeper localisation, expansion of the dealer and service network, and enhanced customer-centric product and ownership experiences across India.
The growth trajectory has been supported by continued product innovation, expanded export programmes, and strengthened engineering and software capabilities. A renewed focus on India-first product development, a broader customer ecosystem, and upgraded manufacturing capabilities has accelerated Citroën’s domestic performance while also boosting Stellantis’ export footprint from India.
As part of this momentum, Citroën India’s vehicle exports rose by 18.8 percent in 2025, driven by strong demand from Africa and ASEAN markets. The increase underscores India’s growing importance as a strategic manufacturing and export hub within Citroën’s global operations.
Commenting on the performance, Shailesh Hazela, CEO & Managing Director, Stellantis India, said, “Citroën 2.0 – ‘Shift Into The New’ strategy is leading steady growth in India. With a sharp focus on localisation, India-first product interventions, and expanding customer accessibility, we have created a strong and sustainable growth path. The impact is visible — Citroën delivered three times sales in Q4 versus Q3 and contributed significantly to Stellantis India’s 18.8 percent export growth in 2025. With the Basalt set to join our global export portfolio in 2026, India is rapidly becoming a core pillar of Citroën’s long-term strategy for product development, manufacturing, and technology.”
During 2025, Citroën strengthened its product portfolio with new and refreshed models, including the C3 Dark Edition, Aircross, C3X, Basalt, and Aircross X. A key technology highlight was the debut of CARA, India’s first intelligent in-car assistant, introduced with the Basalt X. CARA has seen strong customer adoption, offering features such as voice-based music control, navigation, hands-free calling, weather updates, live information, reminders, web search, and flight tracking—enhancing everyday convenience and driving comfort.
Citroën has also focused on simplifying ownership and improving accessibility by expanding its financial and insurance partnerships in 2025. Collaborations with HDFC Bank, IndusInd General Insurance, and Sundaram Finance enable flexible finance options, digital loan approvals, and streamlined insurance solutions. Additionally, partnerships with mobility providers have helped integrate Citroën electric vehicles into urban fleets, supporting broader EV adoption in India.
Looking ahead, Citroën India plans to expand its retail footprint and product portfolio, accelerate India-first innovations, scale exports, and strengthen sustainable mobility solutions, including electric vehicles.
