Greaves Electric Mobility’s Eltra City XTRA Sets National Record with 324 km Ride on a Single Charge

In a remarkable showcase of engineering prowess and commitment to sustainable transportation, Greaves Electric Mobility Limited (GEML) has set a new national benchmark with its advanced electric 3-wheeler, the Eltra City XTRA. The vehicle successfully completed a 324-kilometre journey from Bengaluru, Karnataka to Ranipet, Tamil Nadu on a single charge, earning a spot in the India Book of Records for the longest distance travelled by an electric 3-wheeler on a single charge.

The record-setting journey, aptly titled Freedom Ride 2.0, began at the Greaves Electric Mobility Tech Center in Bengaluru and concluded at the company’s Ampere manufacturing facility in Ranipet. Beyond the milestone itself, the ride underscored India’s growing capabilities in clean mobility, technological innovation, and engineering self-reliance.

“This is more than just a record—it’s a reaffirmation of our commitment to providing dependable, high-performance electric mobility solutions for everyday entrepreneurs,” said Manoj M P, Chief Business Officer, Greaves Electric Mobility. “With the Eltra City XTRA, we’re not just setting benchmarks—we’re raising them.”

The Eltra City XTRA, launched earlier this month, builds on the legacy of its predecessor, the Eltra City, which covered 225 km in a single stretch from Bangalore to Mysore in 2024. The upgraded model reflects GEML’s “Technology Latest, Trust Highest” philosophy and is designed for superior performance, extended range, and reliable ownership.

Power-Packed Performance & Driver-Centric Features

Engineered for both urban and peri-urban environments, the Eltra City XTRA offers a top speed of 60 kmph, a true range of ~170 km (in driver+3 passenger conditions), and the ability to carry a payload of up to 330 kg. It is equipped with a 9.5 kW peak power motor, a 10.75 kWh IP67-rated LFP battery, and a digital 6.2” PMVA cluster that supports BLE connectivity, real-time alerts, navigation, and distance-to-empty indicators.

The electric three-wheeler also boasts 12” radial tyres, better ground clearance, and is capable of handling gradients up to 12°, making it suitable for a variety of terrains. Charging time ranges between 4 to 5 hours, adding to the vehicle’s convenience for daily operations.

To ensure long-term peace of mind, GEML is offering a 5-year/1.2 lakh km warranty on the battery and a 3-year/80,000 km warranty on the vehicle itself.

“Freedom Ride 2.0 isn’t just about distance—it’s about impact,” said Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility. “The Eltra City XTRA is more than a vehicle—it’s a livelihood enabler and a key contributor to India’s green goals.”

Driving India’s Green Mobility Vision

With India accelerating its push toward electric mobility, Greaves Electric Mobility is playing a pivotal role by delivering reliable, high-performance EV solutions tailored to Indian roads and entrepreneurs. Backed by Greaves Cotton’s 165-year legacy and a nationwide service infrastructure, GEML continues to push the boundaries of clean mobility innovation.

As the electric mobility wave gains momentum, milestones like the Eltra City XTRA’s record-breaking ride represent more than engineering triumph—they symbolize the country’s transition to a cleaner, greener future.
