Maruti Suzuki Signs Landmark Collaboration with 13 Charge Point Operators, Unveils Nationwide EV Ecosystem and ‘e for me’ Platform
New Delhi: In a historic move to accelerate India’s electric mobility transition, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced collaboration agreements with 13 Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and aggregators, marking one of the country’s largest integrated EV ecosystem initiatives. The agreements were signed in the presence of Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales), and senior dignitaries from partnering CPOs.
India’s Largest Integrated EV Charging Vision
Speaking at the announcement, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi said the company is fully prepared to support India’s EV journey with a future-ready charging ecosystem.
“Today, we are taking a historic step as we enter the domain of electric mobility with full readiness to address EV charging concerns and boost customer confidence. We already have over 2,000 exclusive Maruti Suzuki charging points across more than 1,100 cities, and now, with 13 CPO collaborations, our customers gain access to a vast national charging network,” he said.
Aligned with Suzuki’s global EV roadmap, Maruti Suzuki aims to enable over 1 lakh EV charging points in India by 2030, in partnership with its extensive dealer network and new CPO partners.
Nationwide Charging at 5–10 km Intervals in Top Cities
Showcasing India’s largest-ready EV network, Mr. Partho Banerjee highlighted that Maruti Suzuki is ensuring customer convenience across urban and highway routes.
“We are ensuring EV charging points at an average distance of 5–10 km across the top 100 cities. DC fast chargers are now placed at regular intervals along major Indian highways to provide true long-distance EV freedom,” he said.
To support EV users, the company has deployed a 1.5 lakh-strong EV-trained workforce and enabled 1,500+ EV-ready service workshops across 1,100 cities.
‘e for me’ App: A Unified EV Charging Platform
Maruti Suzuki’s new ‘e for me’ mobile app serves as a single, integrated interface for smart home and public charging.
Key features include:
- Locate, pay and charge at all partner and Maruti Suzuki charging points
- Single app for public chargers and Smart Home Chargers
- Tap N Charge functionality using a universal Maruti Suzuki charging card
- In-car mirroring for seamless infotainment integration
- Remote management of Smart Home Charger power and scheduling
The app will be available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and will guide customers from vehicle booking to charging setup and ongoing usage.
Pan-India ‘e drive’ Flagged Off
To demonstrate the reliability of its EV charging network, Maruti Suzuki has flagged off a nationwide ‘e drive’featuring four e VITARA Born EVs. The vehicles will travel to:
- Srinagar (North)
- Kanyakumari (South)
- Dibrugarh (East)
- Bhuj (West)
This long-distance validation run will showcase the real-world feasibility of EV travel across India using the ‘e for me’ network.
e VITARA Born EV: Tested Over 1 Crore Kilometres
Built in India for global markets, the e VITARA Born EV has undergone over 1 crore km of testing across extreme terrains and temperatures ranging from -30°C to 60°C. The EV delivers a certified driving range of 543 km*, and is designed to provide a seamless global EV ownership experience when paired with the ‘e for me’ ecosystem.
