Repsol Returns to MotoGP as Official Lubricant Supplier for Moto2 and Moto3 from 2026

Madrid, October 22, 2025: Global energy giant Repsol and MotoGP have announced a landmark partnership that will see the Spanish brand become the official lubricant supplier for Moto2 and Moto3 starting in 2026. The collaboration marks a new era in the company’s storied association with the world of motorcycle racing.

Under the multi-year agreement, Repsol will also become the title sponsor of a MotoGP Grand Prix each season and maintain a prominent trackside presence throughout the calendar — reinforcing its long-standing legacy in top-tier motorsport.

A Partnership Built on Performance and Innovation

In the intensely competitive world of MotoGP, performance, reliability, and innovation determine victory by mere milliseconds. As the exclusive lubricant supplier for Moto2 and Moto3, Repsol will test and develop its products under race conditions, ensuring that the same cutting-edge technology reaches everyday riders through its commercial range.

Developed at the Repsol Technology Lab — one of Europe’s most advanced private R&D centers — Repsol Lubricants are the result of decades of innovation. The lab employs over 230 researchers and scientists working on state-of-the-art formulations designed to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and extend engine life.

Following the announcement, Repsol Lubricants will launch a new range of competition-grade products, strengthening its commitment to provide high-performance solutions for all motorcycle types — from professional racing machines to commuter bikes.

Continuing a Legendary MotoGP Legacy

Repsol’s return as an official MotoGP partner continues a relationship that has shaped modern motorcycle racing. The brand’s iconic 30-year partnership with the Repsol Honda Team remains one of the most successful collaborations in MotoGP history, delivering multiple world championships and unforgettable moments.

“This new partnership with MotoGP represents a significant step in our global growth strategy,” said Clara Velasco, Director of Repsol Lubricants. “We are excited to return to the sport and showcase the quality and performance of our lubricants in such a demanding environment. This agreement allows us to keep innovating and improving our products to offer the best to our customers.”

Valero Marín, General Manager of Customers at Repsol, added:

“Engines have always been part of our DNA. This partnership allows us to connect with our customers in a more emotional and authentic way — ensuring every kilometer is traveled with confidence, performance, and purpose.”

Dorna Sports Welcomes Repsol’s Return

Dan Rossomondo, Chief Commercial Officer of Dorna Sports, MotoGP’s rights holder, welcomed the renewed collaboration:

“Fans already associate Repsol with excellence and success in MotoGP. We’re proud to see them return as an official partner. Their technology and reputation will benefit the Moto2 and Moto3 paddocks, and their title sponsorship adds further prestige to the championship.”

As MotoGP continues its global expansion and sustainability drive, Repsol’s expertise in advanced lubricants and cleaner technologies aligns perfectly with the sport’s future direction.

A New Chapter Begins in 2026

The 2026 season will see Repsol’s distinctive branding and technology once again at the forefront of motorcycle racing — from trackside banners to the fuel bays of Moto2 and Moto3 teams. For fans and competitors alike, the partnership signals the start of an exciting new chapter that blends motorsport heritage with innovation and sustainability.
