Škoda Auto India Posts Record Q1 2026 Sales, Driven by Kylaq and New Kushaq
Mumbai, April 1, 2026: Škoda Auto India has reported its highest-ever quarterly sales in India, selling 20,028 units in Q1 2026 (January–March). This marks a 17% year-on-year growth compared to 17,138 units sold during the same period last year, underlining the brand’s sustained growth momentum following a record-breaking 2025.
The company’s strong performance has been powered by a robust product lineup, led by the popular Škoda Kylaq, which recently crossed the 50,000 sales milestone. Additional momentum came from the introduction of the updated Škoda Kushaq, along with consistent demand for the Škoda Slavia and the premium Škoda Kodiaq.
Leadership Commentary Signals Sustained Momentum
Commenting on the milestone, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Škoda Auto India, said the company’s strongest-ever quarterly performance reflects the momentum built over the past year.
He highlighted that the growth is being driven by a more accessible and stronger product portfolio, deeper market penetration, and a sharper focus on customer-centric initiatives. He added that while the Kylaq continues to bring new customers into the brand, the recently introduced Kushaq has already made a significant impact, with the Slavia and Kodiaq maintaining steady demand across their respective segments.
Strengthening Customer Trust and Ownership Experience
Škoda Auto India is also reinforcing customer confidence through enhanced ownership programs. The introduction of Škoda Super Care has set a new benchmark by offering:
- 4-year standard warranty
- 4 years of roadside assistance
- 4 labour-free services
These initiatives aim to deliver predictable maintenance costs and a hassle-free ownership experience, further strengthening brand trust.
The company’s growing footprint now includes 330 customer touchpoints across more than 180 cities, enabling wider accessibility and improved service reach across both metro and emerging markets.
Product Strategy Driving Growth
Škoda Auto India’s continued growth is anchored in a diverse and evolving product portfolio aligned with changing consumer expectations.
The Kylaq remains a key growth driver in the competitive sub-4m SUV segment, while the new Kushaq strengthens the brand’s “democratisation strategy” by offering advanced features and improved accessibility.
Notably, the updated Kushaq introduces segment-first features such as an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear seat massager, along with enhanced standard equipment—reinforcing the brand’s focus on delivering European technology with higher value.
Meanwhile, the Slavia continues to generate stable volumes in the sedan segment, and the Kodiaq maintains Škoda’s presence in the premium SUV category, ensuring a well-balanced portfolio.
Outlook
With record-breaking quarterly performance and sustained demand across segments, Škoda Auto India is poised to maintain its upward trajectory in 2026. The company plans to continue focusing on new product launches, network expansion, and enhanced ownership experiences to further accelerate growth in the Indian automotive market.
