Pune, April 1, 2026: EKA Mobility has announced a fivefold year-on-year growth in FY 2025โ26, marking a significant milestone in Indiaโs fast-evolving electric commercial vehicle space. The company recorded sales of 1,143 units and production of 1,344 electric commercial vehicles, driven by a rapidly expanding portfolio across buses, small commercial vehicles (SCVs), and newly introduced electric trucks.
The companyโs growth comes alongside its recognition as a Champion OEM under the Automotive Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, with certifications across multiple platformsโfurther strengthening its position in Indiaโs EV ecosystem.
Leadership Perspective: Scaling with Ambition
Dr. Sudhir Mehta, Founder and Chairman of EKA Mobility, described FY26 as a โdefining yearโ for the company, highlighting its dual focus on scaling volumes and expanding manufacturing capacity.
He emphasized that EKAโs โborn-electricโ platform strategy, spanning last-mile to long-haul mobility, positions it uniquely as a full-stack EV company. The company is ramping up its manufacturing capabilities to an annual capacity of:
- 10,000 electric buses
- 6,000 electric trucks
- 24,000 small commercial vehicles (SCVs)
Strong Momentum Across Key Segments
Electric Buses Lead Growth
EKA Mobility has strengthened its leadership in the electric bus segment with major wins under national programs such as PM e-Bus Sewa and PM E-DRIVE. Its electric buses are now deployed across 15+ states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Delhi.
SCV Segment Sees Breakout Year
The company reported strong market acceptance for its 3S and 6S passenger vehicles and 3W cargo platforms, particularly in last-mile and intra-city mobility, making FY26 a breakout year for its SCV business.
Electric Trucks Emerge as New Growth Engine
EKA Mobilityโs entry into the medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) truck segment has opened a new growth avenue, contributing significantly to overall volumes while expanding its footprint in long-haul logistics electrification.
Hydrogen Mobility Gains Momentum
In a major step towards future mobility, EKA deployed a 9-metre hydrogen fuel cell bus at Cochin International Airport, developed in collaboration with KPIT Technologies and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.
The company plans to deploy 15 additional hydrogen buses in the coming months, signaling its commitment to zero-emission technologies beyond battery EVs.
Global Expansion and Strategic Partnerships
EKA Mobility is also accelerating its international footprint:
- Began electric bus deployments in Africa
- Signed a strategic agreement with Kerchanshe Group for CKD assembly and distribution
- Partnered with NBFI Capital to manufacture electric buses in Australia
Manufacturing and Network Expansion
The companyโs two manufacturing facilities in Pune are fully operational, with a third plant in Pithampur set to go live soon. EKA Mobility also boasts one of Indiaโs largest commercial EV R&D teams, supporting continuous innovation.
On the retail front, the company has significantly expanded its dealership footprint and plans to add 120 more dealerships in FY27, covering Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities.
