Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Appoints Bradley Lord as Deputy Team Principal

March 20, 2026: The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team has announced a key leadership restructuring, naming Bradley Lord as its new Deputy Team Principal. The move comes as the team continues to expand its global operations and strengthen its management structure in response to Formula 1’s rapid growth.

Effective immediately, Lord will support Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff in overseeing the team’s increasingly complex operations. The appointment formalizes responsibilities that Lord has gradually taken on over recent years, reflecting the evolving demands of one of the sport’s most successful teams.

Over the past decade, the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team has significantly grown in scale, both on and off the track. With Formula 1 witnessing a surge in global popularity, the Brackley-based outfit is adapting its leadership model to ensure greater efficiency and clarity across its senior management ranks—mirroring structures seen across other teams in the paddock.

Speaking on the announcement, Toto Wolff emphasized that the restructuring aligns with the team’s long-term vision. He noted that while his own role remains unchanged, Lord’s elevation will enhance the leadership group’s capabilities and provide additional support at the highest level.

“Bradley is a dedicated and long-serving member of our organisation who has played an important role in our success,” Wolff said. “This change ensures our leadership team is optimised to meet the demands of a rapidly growing sport.”
