Samsung Retains No.1 Global TV Brand Title for 20th Consecutive Year

Samsung Electronics has reaffirmed its dominance in the global television market, securing the title of the world’s No.1 TV brand for the 20th consecutive year. The milestone marks two decades of leadership for the company, which first reached the top position in 2006 and has maintained its lead ever since.

According to market research firm Omdia, Samsung captured 29.1% of the global TV market in 2025, underscoring its continued influence in the premium, ultra-large and next-generation display segments.

Strong Performance in the Premium TV Segment

Samsung’s leadership remains particularly strong in the premium television category. In TVs priced above $2,500, the company commanded an impressive 54.3% market share, driven by demand for its advanced display technologies including Neo QLED, OLED and lifestyle TVs.

The company also maintained its dominance in the $1,500-and-above segment, where it recorded a 52.2% market share, reflecting strong consumer preference for high-end viewing experiences and cutting-edge display innovation.

“When consumers choose a TV, they’re choosing a brand they can trust for years to come,” said SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “Our 20-year leadership in the global TV market reflects that trust — built on decades of engineering excellence and premium innovation.”

Two Decades of Innovation in Television Technology

Samsung’s leadership journey began in 2006 with the launch of its design-driven Bordeaux TV, which helped redefine TV aesthetics and technology. Since then, the company has played a central role in shaping major shifts within the television industry.

Key milestones include:

  • 2009: Accelerating the global transition to energy-efficient LED TVs, setting new standards for slim display design.
  • 2011: Introducing Smart TVs, transforming televisions into connected entertainment hubs.
  • 2015: Launching Samsung Serif TV, a design-centric television that blended technology with interior décor.
  • 2017: Debuting Samsung The Frame, creating the “Art TV” category by allowing TVs to display digital artwork.
  • 2017: Expanding premium picture quality with QLED TVs powered by quantum dot technology.
  • 2018: Advancing ultra-high resolution with 8K TVs, delivering more than 33 million pixels.
  • 2020: Introducing Micro LED technology, setting new standards for brightness, contrast and color accuracy in ultra-large screens.

Through continuous advancements in picture quality, smart features and design innovation, Samsung has helped define the modern premium television experience.

Expanding Leadership in Next-Generation Displays

Building on its two-decade leadership, Samsung continues to expand its portfolio of premium televisions. The company is introducing new Micro RGB models and strengthening its OLED and Neo QLED lineups, offering improved picture performance and larger screen options.

Samsung is also expanding its Mini LED technology, enabling greater brightness, contrast and precision across a broader range of TV sizes and price points.

Another key focus is the integration of AI-powered features, with advanced processors designed to enhance picture quality, optimize sound and personalize viewing experiences in real time.

With sustained investment in next-generation display technologies and artificial intelligence, Samsung aims to maintain its leadership in the evolving television market while continuing to deliver premium viewing experiences across multiple price segments.
