GreenCell Mobility Strengthens Safety Commitment During National Road Safety Month
GreenCell Mobility, India’s largest electric bus platform, marked National Road Safety Month with a comprehensive series of nationwide initiatives aimed at promoting safe and responsible mobility across its operations and surrounding communities.
The month-long programme engaged more than 9,500 participants, highlighting the scale and impact of the company’s safety-first approach.
Nationwide Safety Campaigns Across Depots
Taking a proactive and community-focused stance, GreenCell Mobility implemented awareness campaigns, engagement drives and structured capability-building sessions across all its depots in India.
Specialised training workshops were conducted for Coach Captains, focusing on:
- Defensive driving practices
- Passenger safety protocols
- Emergency response preparedness
These sessions were designed to strengthen operational safety standards while reinforcing the company’s broader mission of delivering reliable and responsible electric mobility solutions.
Employee Well-Being and Health Initiatives
Complementing its operational training, GreenCell Mobility partnered with Brahma Kumaris to host well-being sessions for employees. The company also organised medical check-ups and eye screening camps to ensure driver health, alertness and long-term operational readiness.
By integrating physical and mental well-being initiatives into its Road Safety Month programme, the company underscored its holistic approach to safety management.
Collaboration with Authorities and Emergency Services
GreenCell Mobility collaborated closely with regional Road Traffic Authorities to conduct public awareness campaigns and introduce reward and recognition programmes encouraging compliance with traffic regulations.
Fire safety and passenger evacuation mock drills were carried out in partnership with local fire departments to improve emergency preparedness at multiple locations. These drills simulated real-world scenarios, strengthening both crew response times and passenger safety protocols.
Engaging Communities and Schools
Beyond internal operations, GreenCell Mobility extended its outreach into nearby communities. Road safety awareness sessions were conducted in local schools to educate students about responsible road behaviour at an early age.
Additionally, street theatre performances (Nukkad Nataks), organised in collaboration with NGOs, delivered impactful road safety messages directly to the public. On-ground engagement with bikers, pedestrians and other road users reinforced the importance of adhering to traffic norms.
Leadership Perspective on Road Safety Commitment
Commenting on the initiative, Devndra Chawla, MD & CEO of GreenCell Mobility, said:
“At GreenCell Mobility, safety is deeply embedded in the way we operate. National Road Safety Month allowed us to strengthen our focus on driver capability-building, employee well-being and community outreach. By combining structured training, emergency preparedness and public awareness initiatives, we are committed to fostering a culture of responsible and safe mobility across the ecosystems we serve.”
Building a Culture of Responsible Mobility
The National Road Safety Month initiatives reflect GreenCell Mobility’s ongoing commitment to embedding a strong culture of safety throughout its ecosystem. From defensive driving training and health camps to emergency drills and public awareness campaigns, the company continues to position safety not just as a priority — but as a shared responsibility.
