Kia Sonet Crosses 5 Lakh Sales Milestone in India, Reinforcing Strong Customer Trust
New Delhi, India: Kia India, one of the country’s leading mass-premium automakers, has achieved a major milestone as its popular subcompact SUV, the Kia Sonet, surpassed 5 lakh unit sales in the Indian market. The achievement underscores the strong trust and acceptance the brand has built among Indian customers since the Sonet’s launch.
Marking the landmark, Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said the milestone reflects the deep confidence Indian buyers place in the brand.
“Crossing the 5 lakh sales milestone for the Sonet is a moment of pride for all of us at Kia India. Every Sonet sold represents a customer who believed in Kia, and this is a powerful endorsement of the trust Indian buyers have shown us,” he said. “Our focus on meaningful design, advanced technology and dependable performance has clearly resonated with customers across the country.”
Designed to meet the aspirations of modern, forward-looking Indian consumers, the Kia Sonet redefined the subcompact SUV segment with its bold styling, advanced features, responsive performance and everyday practicality. Manufactured in India under Kia’s ‘Make in India, for the World’ vision, the Sonet has consistently evolved with changing customer expectations, appealing to a wide spectrum of buyers—from first-time car owners to young families.
The 5 lakh sales milestone highlights Kia India’s customer-first approach, with the Sonet emerging as a key pillar of the brand’s domestic success. The model contributes nearly 35 per cent of Kia India’s total domestic volumes, significantly expanding the company’s reach across urban and emerging markets.
Beyond India, the Sonet has also made a strong global impact. Kia India has exported over 100,000 units of the subcompact SUV to nearly 70 international markets, including the Middle East and Africa (MEA), Central and South America, Mexico and the Asia-Pacific region, reinforcing global confidence in India-manufactured Kia vehicles.
Customer demand for the Kia Sonet has remained robust, with the model crossing the 1 lakh annual sales mark for two consecutive years. Its wide range of powertrain options, multiple transmission choices and feature-rich variants have offered customers greater flexibility, while rising preference for higher trims reflects growing demand for connected, safe and premium mobility solutions.
