VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 Secure 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating in India

Premium electric SUVs achieve top scores in adult and child occupant protection

New Delhi, India: VinFast’s electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, have been awarded the highest 5-star safety certification by Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP), reinforcing the brand’s engineering strength and customer-centric focus in one of the world’s most demanding automotive markets.

According to the official Bharat NCAP results, both models achieved 5-star ratings in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP). The VinFast VF 6 scored 27.13 out of 32 points in AOP and 44.41 out of 49 points in COP, while the VF 7 recorded 28.54/32 in AOP and 45.25/49 in COP, highlighting a high level of safety for occupants across age groups.

Strong Performance in Crash Tests

In detailed crash test assessments, the VF 6 and VF 7 demonstrated robust structural integrity and occupant protection. During frontal impact tests, both vehicles achieved the maximum 4.000 points for head & neck and upper leg protection for the driver and front passenger.

In side impact tests, the two electric SUVs secured full scores of 16.000/16.000 for adult occupants and 8.000/8.000 for child occupants, underlining consistent safety performance across different collision scenarios.

Further reinforcing their safety credentials, the pole side impact test recorded head injury assessment values of 109 for VF 6 and 131 for VF 7, significantly lower than Bharat NCAP’s critical threshold of 700, indicating effective head protection in high-risk crashes.

Meeting India’s Stringent Safety Standards

Bharat NCAP, implemented by the Government of India and aligned with global safety protocols such as Global NCAP, evaluates vehicles through comprehensive crash testing and awards ratings ranging from 3 to 5 stars. Achieving a 5-star rating confirms that the VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 meet the most rigorous safety benchmarks currently applicable in the Indian automotive market.

VinFast’s focus on safety has also been recognised internationally. Previously, the VinFast VF 8 earned a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating and secured five out of six safety awards from the organisation in 2024, outperforming more than 15 major global automakers.

Assembled at VinFast’s manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, the VF 6 and VF 7 are premium electric SUVs built on a 5-star Bharat NCAP-rated EV-dedicated platform. Both models come equipped with seven airbags and a suite of variant-dependent advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto Lane Changing Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Front and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Detection.
