Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team Unveils 2026 V4-Powered YZR-M1 and Line-Up in Jakarta

Yamaha launches new MotoGP era with all-new V4 engine, refreshed livery and global debut at Indonesia’s largest dealer event

Jakarta, Indonesia: The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team has officially ushered in a new era for Yamaha in MotoGP, unveiling its 2026 rider line-up and the all-new V4-powered YZR-M1 at a global team presentation in Jakarta. The launch took place during Yamaha Motor Indonesia’s 3S Dealer Meeting, the largest Yamaha dealer gathering in the world, held at the InterContinental Jakarta.

The high-profile event attracted widespread attention from the motorsports industry, media, and fans, making it an ideal platform to debut Yamaha’s bold technical direction for the future of MotoGP.

Yamaha Begins Its V4 MotoGP Era

Senior Yamaha executives Takahiro Sumi, General Manager of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.’s Motor Sports Development Division and President of Yamaha Motor Racing, and Paolo Pavesio, Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing and Team Principal of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, highlighted the unprecedented challenge of developing the new V4-powered YZR-M1 in parallel with competing during the 2025 season.

They emphasised the importance of close collaboration between Yamaha’s operations in Japan and Italy, as well as creating an integrated working environment that enables specialists from diverse technical backgrounds to perform at the highest level.

Focus on Performance and Consistency in 2026

Massimo Meregalli, Sport Manager of Yamaha Motor Racing and Team Director of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP, noted that the primary focus for 2026 will be on extracting performance and building consistency as the team familiarises itself with the new machine.

“With a completely new technical project, there will be a steep learning curve, but it is also an exciting challenge. Getting the fundamentals right will allow the results to follow,” he said.

Iconic Livery with New Partnerships

The 2026 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP livery retains its signature camouflage theme, refreshed with more blue and white accents for a sharper visual identity. A notable addition is the logo of DP World, Yamaha’s new Official Logistics Partner, which appears prominently on the YZR-M1.

DP World, a global logistics leader headquartered in Dubai, handles approximately 10% of the world’s container trade and employs more than 100,000 people worldwide. The partnership will be officially launched at a dedicated event in Dubai on January 26.

Yamaha’s long-standing partnership with Monster Energy continues into 2026, reinforcing a global alliance built on a shared passion for racing and performance. The iconic Monster Energy claw branding once again features prominently on the bikes, team uniforms, and official branding across MotoGP, MXGP, and Supercross.

Quartararo and Rins Lead Yamaha’s 2026 Campaign

Factory riders Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins joined team management on stage to unveil their 2026 YZR-M1 machines and share their excitement for the season ahead.

Quartararo, the 2021 MotoGP World Champion, enters his eighth season with Yamaha, bringing experience, speed, and championship pedigree. He has spent the off-season intensively training and will again work closely with crew chief Diego Gubellini.

Rins, who joined Yamaha in 2024, remains a key figure in the team’s development efforts. Supported by crew chief David Muñoz, he is focused on quickly adapting to the new V4 M1 and pushing Yamaha back toward the front of the grid.

A Demanding MotoGP Season Ahead

The 2026 MotoGP season is set to be one of the most demanding yet, with 22 Grand Prix rounds and 44 racescurrently planned. Each race weekend will feature a MotoGP Sprint on Saturday and the main MotoGP race on Sunday, placing greater emphasis on performance consistency and technical reliability.

Strong Partner Ecosystem Supports Yamaha’s Vision

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will once again be supported by a wide network of Official Sponsors, Official Partners, and Hospitality Partners, reflecting strong long-term confidence in Yamaha’s MotoGP project and its new technical direction.
