Aston Martin Aramco and Honda Celebrate Start of Works Partnership Ahead of 2026 Formula 1 Season

Tokyo: Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team and Honda Motor Co. today officially marked the beginning of their highly anticipated works partnership, celebrating a new chapter in Formula 1® at a landmark event held in Tokyo. The collaboration signals a major strategic step as the sport prepares for sweeping technical regulation changes in 2026.

The event was attended by Aston Martin Aramco Executive Chairman Lawrence StrollHonda Motor Co. President and Representative Executive Officer Toshihiro Mibe, and Formula 1® President and CEO Stefano Domenicali, who underlined the significance of the partnership for the future of the championship.


Honda to Power Aston Martin Aramco from 2026

From the 2026 Formula 1 season, Honda will supply power units to Aston Martin Aramco as a full works partner, reinforcing the team’s long-term ambition to compete for world championships. The collaboration brings together Aston Martin’s cutting-edge infrastructure at the AMR Technology Centre in Silverstone and Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) in Sakura, Japan.

The partnership is further strengthened through close collaboration with Aramco and Valvoline, with Aston Martin Aramco Chief Strategy Officer Andy Cowell providing strategic oversight as both organisations prepare for the new era of F1.


Lawrence Stroll: Shared Values and Championship Ambitions

Speaking at the event, Lawrence Stroll said the partnership is built on shared values and a mutual commitment to excellence.

“I am delighted to celebrate the start of our partnership with Honda here in Tokyo today. Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team and Honda share many values, and those values have brought us together for 2026 and beyond,” he said.

“The strong collaboration between the AMR Technology Centre at Silverstone and Honda Racing Corporation in Sakura demonstrates the depth of our partnership. We have tremendous faith in Honda’s power unit and the engineers behind it as we build towards a championship-winning future.”


Honda Unveils RA626H Power Unit and New ‘H’ Brand Identity

Honda reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to Formula 1, describing the sport as the ultimate platform for technological challenge and innovation. Toshihiro Mibe highlighted the importance of the upcoming regulation changes, which will introduce new chassis and power unit rules in 2026.

“Honda sees Formula 1 as a symbol of challenge and innovation,” Mibe said. “HRC has developed the RA626H power unit for the 2026 season to meet these challenges as we strive to become number one in the world together with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.”

During the event, Honda also unveiled a refreshed ‘H’ mark, symbolising the transformation of its automobile business and representing a new visual identity aligned with future mobility ambitions.


Looking Ahead to the 2026 Formula 1 Season

The partnership comes at a pivotal moment for Formula 1 as the sport enters a new technical era focused on efficiency, sustainability and innovation. Aston Martin Aramco and Honda aim to leverage their combined engineering expertise to compete at the front of the grid when the new regulations come into force.

The team’s 2026 season launch is scheduled to take place at Ithra, Saudi Arabia, next month, ahead of the opening race of the season in Melbourne, Australia, in March.
