Detroit, January 15: Oracle Red Bull Racing and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls officially launched their bold new liveries for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship during a spectacular joint event in Detroit, marking the beginning of a transformative era for Formula One. The unveiling took place at the iconic Michigan Central Station, bringing together stars from motorsport, film, music and technology.

The 2026 season signals a major shift for Formula One, with sweeping technical regulation changes and the debut of Red Bull Ford Powertrains, as Red Bull partners with Ford to develop both the chassis and power unit in-house for the first time.

A New Era for Red Bull and Ford in Formula One

Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of Corporate Projects and New Investments at Red Bull GmbH, described the moment as a defining milestone.
“This is a new chapter for us. Building our own engine and bringing it to life on track is a remarkable step for our brand,” he said, highlighting the ambition behind the Red Bull Ford Powertrains project.

Red Bull Powertrains Technical Director Ben Hodgkinson echoed that sentiment, calling it “a bold and audacious project” focused on long-term independence and innovation. “From the very beginning, we wanted it to be a Red Bull chassis and power unit, developed together in harmony,” he added.

Star-Studded Launch and Cutting-Edge Technology

The event was hosted by sportscaster Nicole Briscoe, actor Dax Shepard, and Ruby Ukairo, with live music from Detroit rapper Big Sean. Among those in attendance were drivers Max VerstappenIsack HadjarLiam Lawson, and rookie Arvid Lindblad, alongside Oracle Red Bull Racing Team Principal Laurent Mekies, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Team Principal Alan PermaneF1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, and Ford CEO Jim Farley.

A standout moment came during the opening Ford and Red Bull presentation, which featured the first-ever live broadcast reveal of a Formula One power unit using Apple Vision Pro, offering fans a unique behind-the-scenes look at the technology powering the new era.

Oracle Red Bull Racing: Heritage Meets the Future

Oracle Red Bull Racing’s new livery was revealed in dramatic fashion through a filmed segment featuring 2018 Red Bull Air Race World Champion Martin Šonka, who used the tail hook of his aircraft to pull away the car cover. The result was a bold, glossy design that blends modern styling with subtle nods to the team’s origins.

Team Principal Laurent Mekies explained that the livery reflects both innovation and legacy. “2026 marks the start of a new and significant era for Formula One and for Red Bull. This livery is designed to celebrate the spirit we entered the sport with and the dream of Dietrich Mateschitz,” he said.

Four-time world champion Max Verstappen praised the updated look, noting the refined colours and glossy finish. “I like the shine, blue is my favourite colour. It feels fresh,” said the 28-year-old, while acknowledging the challenges posed by the new regulations and power unit.

New teammate Isack Hadjar, 21, called his promotion “a dream come true”, adding that the car’s glossy finish would stand out under the lights at night races.

Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Reveal Sleek All-White Design

The spotlight then shifted to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, as Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad unveiled a striking all-white livery accented with sleek blue lines that trace the contours of the chassis, creating a sharper and more streamlined appearance.

Lawson, who finished the 2025 season strongly, said he was excited by the new look and opportunities ahead. “It looks fast, so hopefully it is fast on track,” he said.
Eighteen-year-old Lindblad, set to become the youngest and only rookie on the 2026 F1 grid, described reaching Formula One as the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition.

Looking Ahead to the 2026 F1 Season

Visa Cash App Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer said the launch reflected the team’s evolution as a “culture-first” brand, while Team Principal Alan Permane highlighted the significance of partnering with Ford at the dawn of one of Formula One’s biggest technical revolutions.

Set against Detroit’s historic architecture, the event captured the spirit of innovation that has defined Red Bull for over two decades. With Ford’s 125-year legacy of performance and engineering excellence, the partnership aims to push boundaries as Formula One enters a bold new chapter in 2026.
