BYD India Increases Price of SEALION 7 Premium by ₹50,000; Performance Variant Unchanged

New Delhi: BYD India, a subsidiary of BYD, the world’s No. 1 New Energy Vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, has announced a price increase of ₹50,000 for the BYD SEALION 7 Premium variant, effective 1 January 2026. The company confirmed that there is no price change for the BYD SEALION 7 Performance variant.

To ensure transparency and provide planning certainty to customers, BYD India stated that all bookings made on or before 31 December 2025 will be honoured at the old ex-showroom prices, allowing buyers to secure the electric SUV ahead of the revision.

Updated BYD SEALION 7 Prices (Ex-showroom, India)

• SEALION 7 Premium (82.56 kWh): ₹49.40 lakh (earlier ₹48.90 lakh)
• SEALION 7 Performance (82.56 kWh): ₹54.90 lakh (unchanged)

The price adjustment reflects BYD’s continued investment in advanced technology, safety systems and customer experience infrastructure, while reinforcing the long-term value proposition of the SEALION 7.

Strong Demand for BYD SEALION 7 in India

Commenting on the development, Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) Business at BYD India, said the updated pricing accounts for evolving cost dynamics while continuing to offer a compelling premium electric SUV proposition. He added that the BYD SEALION 7 has crossed 2,300 units in sales across India since launch, underlining growing customer acceptance and demand for premium electric SUVs in the country.

Further strengthening its credentials, BYD India has been recognised for Excellence in Battery Technology by Motoring World, highlighting the brand’s leadership in advanced and safe EV battery innovation. The BYD SEALION 7 has also received the Luxury Mid-Size SUV – The One That Matters (TOTM) award from Acko Drive, reinforcing its strong appeal among discerning EV buyers.

Performance, Safety and Range Highlights

Built on BYD’s advanced Cell-to-Body (CTB) architecture and powered by the renowned Blade Battery, the SEALION 7 offers enhanced structural safety, improved cabin space and refined driving dynamics. Both variants feature an 82.56 kWh battery pack and carry a 5-Star Euro NCAP safety rating.

• SEALION 7 Performance:
  • Power: 390 kW
  • Torque: 690 Nm
  • 0–100 km/h: 4.5 seconds
• SEALION 7 Premium:
  • Power: 230 kW
  • Torque: 380 Nm
  • 0–100 km/h: 6.7 seconds

The electric SUV delivers a certified range of up to 567 km (NEDC) on a full charge.

Alongside the pricing update, BYD India continues its One BYD Infinite Connections programme, a unique customer engagement initiative that offers select customers an opportunity to visit BYD’s NEV innovation and testing facilities in Zhengzhou, China.
