Hanuman Pawshe Clinches Unrestricted Title at Indian National Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship 2025

Chennai, December 28: Mumbai’s Hanuman Pawshe of Fast Track Racing India dramatically clinched the premier Unrestricted class titleat the MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Drag Racing Championship 2025 after defending champion Hemanth Muddappa was penalised for a jump start in the decisive final run at the Madras International Circuit on Sunday.

Heading into the fourth and final round, Pawshe and Bengaluru’s Muddappa were locked on 55 points, with Fast Track Racing India rider Alimon Saidalvi just two points behind. However, Muddappa’s jump-start penalty in the final run handed Pawshe the championship, with Saidalvi finishing second overall and Muddappa settling for third in the Unrestricted category.

Despite missing out on the marquee title, Muddappa salvaged his campaign in style, winning two additional national championships to take his career tally to an impressive 17 national titles. A fourth-place finish in the Super Sport 4-Stroke 1051–1650cc class earned him enough points to edge out Round-4 winner Mujahid Pasha for the championship. Earlier, a second-place finish behind Pawshe ensured Muddappa also secured the Super Sport 4-Stroke 851–1050cc title.

In the Girls (Super Stock up to 165cc) category, Lapis Lazuli of Nagercoil (C2 Racing) emerged champion ahead of teammate Shanthi Chandra, with the duo finishing first and second in both rounds over the weekend.

Bengaluru’s Syed Imran delivered a flawless performance to bag two national titles in the 2-Stroke up to 130cc and 2-Stroke 131–165cc categories, further strengthening Fast Track Racing India’s dominant showing.

Overall, Fast Track Racing India enjoyed a highly successful championship, securing team honours in five categories, while Mantra Racing and Team 99 Racing topped two categories eachAccesys India Rookies Racingand C2 Racing also claimed one team title apiece.

Earlier on Saturday in Round 3, the 35-year-old Muddappa had showcased his class with commanding wins in the Unrestricted and 1051–1650cc categories, along with a podium finish in the 851–1050cc class.
