OnePlus Confirms OnePlus 15R as the World’s First Smartphone to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Platform

Global technology leader OnePlus has officially confirmed that its upcoming performance flagship, the OnePlus 15R, will be the first smartphone worldwide to launch with the newly introduced Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform. The device marks the next evolution of the brand’s popular R series, known for delivering top-tier performance and flagship-class gaming capabilities.

The OnePlus R series has long championed speed and power, and the upcoming OnePlus 15R continues this legacy with the industry’s latest premium chipset. Co-developed with Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform introduces groundbreaking performance upgrades — including 36% faster CPU performance, 11% improved GPU output, and up to 46% better AI processing compared to the previous generation.
