Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Crosses 2 Million Production Milestone, Marks Record-Breaking Growth in 2025
Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has crossed a major landmark in its 25-year journey, surpassing the 2 million production milestone in India. The achievement comes during the Group’s strongest commercial momentum yet, with October 2025 emerging as its best-ever month since SAVWIPL’s formation — reaffirming India’s growing importance in Volkswagen Group’s global strategy.
MQB-A0-IN Platform Drives Growth
Of the 2 million units produced, more than 500,000 vehicles were built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, engineered in India for domestic and global markets. This platform powers some of the Group’s most successful models — the Škoda Kushaq, Slavia, Kylaq and the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus.
The last 500,000 units were manufactured in just 3.5 years, highlighting strong demand for India-made, globally benchmarked cars.
Record Sales for Škoda and Volkswagen
The Group’s mass-market brands continued to deliver impressive performance:
- Škoda Auto India posted its best-ever 10-month performance, doubling year-on-year to reach 61,607 units in 2025.
- Volkswagen India registered its highest monthly sales for the Virtus during Diwali, with the sedan capturing over 40% market share in the premium segment within 40 months.
Luxury & Performance Brands Strengthen Market Presence
SAVWIPL’s premium and super-luxury brands also delivered stellar growth:
- Bentley India inaugurated new showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru, marking a fresh chapter under SAVWIPL’s umbrella.
- Porsche India added 4,400+ customers in six years and expanded to 13 touchpoints nationwide.
- Audi India celebrated multiple milestones — the RS Q8 won Performance Car of the Year at the 2025 AutoX Awards, while Audi Approved: plus reported 5% growth. Audi also enhanced India’s EV ecosystem with 6,500+ charging points under Charge My Audi Phase II.
- Lamborghini India achieved its best-ever annual performance in 2024, delivering 113 cars, up 10% from 2023. The launch of the Temerario completes its hybrid transition under the Direzione Cor Tauri strategy.
