BenQ Launches ScreenBar Halo 2 in India: Next-Gen Monitor Light With 423% Wider Coverage and Intelligent Eye-Care Tech

BenQ has launched its next-generation flagship ScreenBar Halo 2 in India. Engineered for professionals, creators, and gamers working in dim or variable lighting environments, the new model delivers superior eye comfort, intelligent automation, and a premium design aesthetic. Developed over four years of extensive research and user testing, the ScreenBar Halo 2 introduces a dual-light system and an innovative triple-curvature backlight design, offering 423% wider illumination coverage compared to its predecessor.

With the growing demand for ergonomic workspaces, BenQ’s latest monitor light aims to create a balanced lighting environment that reduces contrast between the monitor and its surroundings—effectively preventing visual fatigue during extended work sessions.

Advanced ASYM-Light Technology Eliminates Glare

Traditional desk lamps often cause glare, reflections and uneven lighting, but the ScreenBar Halo 2 combats these issues with BenQ’s signature ASYM-Light optical technology. The system uses an 18° asymmetrical cut-off angle to direct light downward onto the desk while keeping the screen completely glare-free.

BenQ developed this lighting approach in collaboration with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The study confirmed that maintaining balanced ambient light significantly improves eye comfort. Backed by ANSI standards, the ScreenBar Halo 2 is designed to maintain an optimal luminance ratio of no more than 3:1between the display and its surroundings.

Precision Controls for Creators and Professionals

“We know professionals demand precision in lighting,” said JC Pan, Chief Product Designer at BenQ Smart Lighting.
He highlighted the newly re-engineered wireless controller, featuring an anti-fingerprint coated control dial that provides smooth adjustment of:

  • Brightness: 0–100%
  • Color temperature: 2700K–6500K

The system is tailored for tasks such as color grading, content creation, and late-night productivity.

BenQ has also redesigned the mounting mechanism for maximum monitor compatibility. Inspired by the gravity-based clamp of the ScreenBar Pro, the new zinc-alloy mount supports both ultra-thin and curved monitors without causing damage.
“It rests gently on the screen instead of clipping on, making it far more screen-friendly,” noted Judy Yang, Lead Mechanical Engineer at BenQ Smart Lighting.

Smart Automation for a Modern Workspace

The ScreenBar Halo 2 integrates several intelligent features to streamline user experience:

  • Motion detection for automatic on/off
  • Auto-dimming that adjusts brightness based on ambient conditions
  • Memory settings to retain personalized lighting preferences

These enhancements ensure an energy-efficient, hands-free operation that adapts naturally to each user’s workflow.

Designed With MINIMAL for a Premium Aesthetic

Co-designed with MINIMAL Design, founded by former Nike Global Creative Director Scott Wilson, the ScreenBar Halo 2 carries a refined metallic finish and minimalist form factor that complements modern home-office and studio setups. It pairs seamlessly with BenQ’s professional monitor lineups, including PD, RD, MOBIUZ, and MA series, offering a cohesive and elevated workspace.

“At BenQ, great technology should enhance human experience,” said Mr. Rajeev Singh, Managing Director, BenQ India & South Asia. “The ScreenBar Halo 2 combines intelligent engineering, elegant design, and smart automation to make modern workspaces healthier, more productive, and visually inspiring.”
