Historic Williams FW19 Goodyear Tyre Signed by F1 Legends Goes to Auction via F1 Authentics

November 8, 2025: Formula 1 fans and memorabilia collectors are being offered the chance to own an extraordinary piece of motorsport history, as F1 Authentics announces the auction of a Goodyear tyre used on the Williams FW19— the car that powered the team to its last Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship titles in 1997.

The tyre, mounted on its distinctive yellow OZ Racing rim, has been signed by 20 Formula 1® drivers from the 1997 and 1998 seasons, including five World Champions — Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher, Mika Häkkinen, Alain Prost, and Damon Hill. Originally used on the Williams FW19, this Goodyear tyre is a direct link to a golden era of Formula 1®. The FW19 secured Williams’ ninth Constructors’ title and Jacques Villeneuve’s 1997 Drivers’ Championship, marking the last time a non-European driver — and a Goodyear-shod car — won the title.

Adding to its rarity are the autographs of both 1997 Williams drivers, Villeneuve and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, alongside signatures from McLaren’s 1998 Championship-winning duo, Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard. Häkkinen’s autograph is particularly distinctive, featuring his famous nickname — “The Flying Finn.”
