Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda’s Japanese GP Race Suits Raise £83,500 for Wings for Life Charity

London, November 4, 2025: The race suits worn by four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen and his teammate Yuki Tsunoda during the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix have raised a remarkable £83,500 at an auction hosted by F1® Authentics, the official memorabilia platform of Formula 1®. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to Wings for Life, Oracle Red Bull Racing’s partner charity dedicated to funding spinal cord injury research.

Supporting a Life-Changing Cause

Wings for Life is a globally recognised non-profit foundation committed to finding a cure for spinal cord injuries. Notably, 100% of all donations and funds raised go directly to scientific research and clinical trials aimed at developing effective treatments.

The generous amount raised through the auction will directly support these ongoing initiatives, contributing to the foundation’s mission to help individuals affected by spinal cord injuries worldwide.

Historic Race Suits with Emotional Value

At the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix held at Suzuka CircuitOracle Red Bull Racing unveiled a striking one-off Honda tribute livery across its cars and racewear. The white-and-red design celebrated the 60th anniversary of Honda’s first-ever Formula 1 victory, paying homage to a historic partnership that concludes at the end of the 2025 season.

Beyond their commemorative design, both suits carry deep sporting significance:

  • Max Verstappen secured victory in Suzuka, becoming the only driver in F1 history to win four consecutive Japanese Grands Prix.
  • Yuki Tsunoda, racing on home soil, made his Oracle Red Bull Racing debut that weekend after being promoted to the senior team. His impressive performance earned him the ‘Driver of the Day’ title, voted by fans worldwide.

The powerful symbolism of these race suits — representing triumph, transition, and tribute — helped drive strong bidding interest among collectors, resulting in a total of £83,500 raised for Wings for Life.
