Samsung Redefines Digital Convenience with Major Upgrades to Samsung Wallet in India
New Delhi, October 30, 2025 — Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, today announced a wave of major innovations for Samsung Wallet, further strengthening its position as a universal and secure gateway to digital life for millions of Galaxy users.
The latest updates include UPI onboarding during new device setup, PIN-free biometric authentication for payments, expanded Tap & Pay support for FOREX and AU Bank cards, and seamless online card payments — all aimed at redefining how users manage digital transactions, identification, and travel essentials through their Galaxy devices.
“With the new updates, Samsung Wallet is no longer just a digital wallet — it has become a universal and secure gateway for digital payments, travel essentials, identity cards, and digital keys,” said Madhur Chaturvedi, Senior Director, Services & Apps Business, Samsung India.
“From the moment users set up their new Galaxy device to the way they pay, transact, and travel, we are removing barriers and redefining convenience.”
UPI Onboarding Built Into Galaxy Device Setup
In a first for any Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Samsung has integrated Unified Payments Interface (UPI)onboarding directly into the new-device setup experience. This means Galaxy users can link and activate their UPI accounts seamlessly during initial setup — becoming payment-ready from the moment they power on their device.
The move aims to accelerate the adoption of digital payments in India by offering a friction-free, out-of-box setup that allows users to send and receive UPI payments instantly.
PIN-Free Biometric Authentication for UPI Payments
Samsung Wallet is enhancing user convenience and security with biometric authentication, enabling UPI payments through fingerprint or facial recognition. This eliminates the need for repeated PIN entries, streamlining the payment process while maintaining Samsung Knox-grade security.
Users can now make secure, contactless payments as effortlessly as unlocking their phone — a key leap forward in usability and trust.
Online Credit & Debit Card Payments
Samsung Wallet will soon allow users to make online payments directly using their securely stored and tokenized credit and debit cards. With this update, checkout becomes faster, safer, and more convenient — removing the need to manually enter card details while shopping across major online platforms.
Tap & Pay Expands with FOREX and AU Bank Cards
In a move that enhances global usability, Samsung Wallet will now support FOREX cards for Tap & Pay, powered by WSFx Global Pay Limited. This enables Galaxy users to make seamless international transactions with a simple tap of their phone.
Additionally, AU Bank cards are now supported for Tap & Pay, expanding Samsung Wallet’s banking network and making digital payments accessible to a wider user base.
Samsung Wallet: Secure, Seamless, and Expanding
Powered by Samsung Knox, Samsung Wallet ensures defense-grade security for every transaction and stored credential. The platform allows users to organize payment methods, identity cards, digital keys, and travel passes— all within one unified app.
The new features will begin rolling out soon across eligible Galaxy devices in India.
