London’s St James’s Motoring Spectacle Returns to Pall Mall with Formula 1 75th Anniversary Celebration
October 23, 2025 | London, UK — The capital’s biggest and most spectacular free-to-attend car show, the St James’s Motoring Spectacle, is set to return to Pall Mall on Saturday, November 1, from 10am to 3pm, celebrating 75 years of the Formula 1 World Championship in grand style.
Organised by the Royal Automobile Club, this one-of-a-kind automotive showcase will transform the historic Westminster boulevard into a vibrant festival of motoring past, present, and future, with the street closed to traffic for the day.
F1 at 75: Pall Mall Takes Pole Position
This year’s main highlight honours the 75th anniversary of Formula 1, marking a remarkable milestone in motorsport history. The Royal Automobile Club, which organised the first-ever points-scoring F1 race at Silverstone in 1950, will pay tribute to its heritage with a dedicated Formula 1 display featuring:
- The latest Ferrari and Williams F1 cars,
- The gold British Grand Prix trophy, most recently presented to Lando Norris in July, and
- Historic artefacts celebrating the evolution of Formula 1 over the decades.
Visitors can experience a rare, close-up look at these engineering marvels that have defined the pinnacle of motorsport for generations.
Motoring Icons Marking Milestone Anniversaries
The St James’s Motoring Spectacle will also celebrate two major automotive anniversaries — 50 years of the VW Poloand 50 years of the Lotus Esprit, both icons in their respective segments.
From classic supercars to compact legends, these dedicated displays will highlight how design and technology have evolved across decades of motoring innovation.
A Journey Through Motoring History
Adding to the grandeur, around 75 pre-1905 veteran cars — all participants in the following day’s RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run — will be showcased on Pall Mall as part of the prestigious St James’s Concours.
Many of their owners will don period attire, bringing the early years of motoring vividly to life for spectators.
Future of Mobility on Display
Reflecting the shift toward sustainability, the event will also feature the latest electric innovations. Visitors can see the new Renault 4 and Renault 5 EVs alongside their classic predecessors, as well as next-generation electric models from Alpine and Lotus — offering a glimpse into the future of clean mobility.
Celebrating the Evolution of Pedal Power
The Spectacle also pays homage to the history of cycling and motorcycles. The display will include:
- Veteran bicycles and early motorcycles,
- Iconic racing machines from the TT and MotoGP, and
- Modern electric bikes representing the cutting edge of two-wheeled innovation.
Spotlight on Automotive Education and Careers
A dedicated motorsport and automotive careers zone will highlight educational pathways and opportunities in innovation, design, and heritage preservation — inspiring the next generation of engineers and enthusiasts.
A Celebration for All Ages
“The St James’s Motoring Spectacle is designed to celebrate every aspect of motoring – from its origins to its exciting future,” said Duncan Wiltshire, Chairman of the Royal Automobile Club. “We’re thrilled to offer visitors such an accessible and inspiring experience, right in the heart of London.
Last year’s event attracted around 10,000 visitors, and with the addition of Formula 1 cars this year, we’re expecting another record turnout.”
With its mix of history, innovation, and family-friendly entertainment, the St James’s Motoring Spectacle 2025promises a memorable, free day out for Londoners and automotive enthusiasts alike.
