Marc Márquez Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery in Madrid

Madrid, Spain, October 2025: Eight-time World Champion Marc Márquez has undergone a successful operation on his right shoulder blade at the Ruber Internacional Hospital in Madrid. The procedure was carried out after medical examinations revealed that the coracoid fracture and ligament damage he sustained were not showing adequate signs of stabilization, despite a week of conservative treatment and immobilization.

The surgery, performed by the same medical team that had evaluated Márquez seven days earlier, aimed to stabilize the injury and repair the acromioclavicular ligaments. According to the medical report, the decision to operate was made to prevent potential residual instability that could affect future recovery and performance.

Surgical Intervention After Conservative Approach

From the outset, doctors had considered surgery as a possible option should the conservative treatment fail to yield sufficient improvement. With the injury showing limited progress after a week, the team opted for surgical stabilizationto ensure complete recovery and long-term shoulder strength.

Recovery and Return to Racing

Following the successful operation, Marc Márquez has been discharged and is now recovering at home. His rehabilitation process will continue under close medical supervision, with the timeline for his return to racingdepending on the pace of his recovery and physiotherapy outcomes.

While no official date has been confirmed for his comeback to MotoGP competition, the focus remains on ensuring a full and stable recovery before Márquez resumes his race activities.
