Chennai, Sept 21, 2025: Sixteen-year-old Bengaluru racer Ishaan Madesh bounced back in style at the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Car Racing Championship 2025, winning both races on Sunday in the premier MRF Formula 2000 category at the Madras International Circuit. After finishing third in Race-1 due to a speed limiter issue, Ishaan dominated Races 2 and 3 to move within just two points of championship leader Arjun Chheda of Pune.

Local hero Ritesh Rai (Buzzing Hornet) stole the spotlight in the Indian Touring Cars (ITC) class, completing a spectacular triple crown by winning all three races in his Volkswagen Polo. Rai fended off strong pressure from Coimbatore veteran Arjun Balu (Race Concepts), who returned after a year’s break, while defending champion Biren Pithawalla (N1 Racing) endured a mixed weekend with a podium and a retirement.

In the MRF Formula 1600 category, Sai Shiva Makesh Sankaran of Pune and Zahan Commissariat from Mumbai split race wins, with Sai Shiva moving to the top of the leaderboard.

Chennai’s Deepak Ravikumar (Team Performance Racing) made a dream return after a year-long injury layoff, winning both races in the Indian Junior Touring Cars class. Diljith TS (DTS Racing) from Thrissur mirrored that success in Super Stock, also taking back-to-back wins.

The Formula LGB 1300 races produced some of the closest finishes of the weekend, with Aditya Patnaik (Momentum Motorsports) and Vinith Kumar (DTS Racing) sharing victories. In the Volkswagen Polo CupOjas Surve (Navi Mumbai) and Aman Nagdev (Noida) took a win each. Meanwhile, Coimbatore’s Akshay Muralidharan dominated the MRF Saloons, bagging both Sunday races.
