Rahil Pillarisetty Extends Championship Lead with Pro-Stock 301-400cc Win at Madras

Chennai, September 6, 2025: Hyderabad ace Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1) strengthened his grip on the Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open championship with a commanding win in Round 3 of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit on Saturday.

The 27-year-old Yamaha R3 rider, starting from pole, notched his third win in five starts this season. He carried too much pace for defending champion Sarthak Chavan (Petronas TVS Racing), finishing comfortably ahead. Former double national champion Anish Damodara Shetty marked a strong comeback after three years, completing the podium in third for RACR Castrol Power1.

Thrilling Pro-Stock 200cc Battle

The Pro-Stock 200cc Open race produced one of the most dramatic finishes of the day, with the top three crossing the line within fractions of a second. Starting from P5, Venkatesh Iyyappan (Rookies Racing) carved his way to victory, narrowly beating Senthilkumar (RDX Torque Racing) and Soorya PM (Chandra LGE Racing) in a nail-biting drag to the finish.

Jagathishree Dominates Girls’ Class

Chennai star Jagathishree Kumaresan (One Racing) continued her commanding form in the Girls (Stock 165cc)category, sealing her fourth win in five starts. The race was red-flagged after three laps due to an on-track incident. Former champion Ann Jennifer (Motul Sparks Racing) was pushing hard before the stoppage and took second, with Rakshita Dave (RACR Castrol Power1) in third.

Other National Championship Highlights

  • Stock 165cc (Novice): Hyderabad’s Rajender Beedani (MAI Racing) claimed his second win of the season, bouncing back from a poor start to beat Lal Nunsanga (Motul Sparks Racing) and CS Kedarnadh (KTM Gusto Racing India).
  • Stock 301-400cc (Novice): Mohamed Mikhail (Mad Rabbit Racing) from Thiruvallur edged out Bengaluru’s Jagadeesh Nagaraj for victory, with Romario John (Rockers Racing) in third.
  • Super Stock 165cc (Intermediate): Raj Kumar (Motul Sparks Racing) took top honours, ahead of Vysak Shoban and Annish Samson.

One-Make Championships

In the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship, Chennai’s Mohan Babu dominated the Expert (Apache RR 310)race, his second win of the season, ahead of G Balaji and Md Samrul Zubair.

The Rookie (Apache RTR 200) category saw Akarsh Jangam (Vijayawada) hold off Joshua A (Bengaluru) and Hari Haran (Coimbatore) in a close contest, while Jagathishree Kumaresan doubled up with victory in the Women’s RTR 200 race, followed by SP Shuria and Ananya Awasthi.

Idemitsu Honda India Talent Cup

In the Honda CB 300F class, Bengaluru’s Solomon R extended his lead in the points table with his third win in five races, finishing ahead of Tejash BA (Tumakuru) and Swaroop Krishna (Chennai).
