Bengaluru school boy, Rishik Reddy, secures podium finish at National RotaxChampionship

Bengaluru, 2 Sept. 2025: Rishik Rohit Reddy, the 12-year-old karting talent from Bengaluru, put on a
spectacular display of speed and racing intelligence to secure a second-place podium finish in the
Junior class at the National Rotax Max Karting Championship. The MSport ward was bogged down by
certain incidents which are beyond his control in the event which saw much higher-aged and better
rated drivers at the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC)-organised third round, held at the
challenging FIA fmsci certified MIKA Circuit in Irungattukottai, near Chennai on 31 August 2025.

Driving with a maturity beyond his years, Rishik, a Grade 7 student at Greenwood High International
School, demonstrated what commentators described as “brute speed,” consistently matching the
pace of the race leaders. This podium finish is the latest in a series of strong results for the young
athlete, highlighting his transition from a mid-pack rookie to a consistent front-runner in the national
karting scene.

Rishik’s journey hasn’t been without adversity. Earlier in the championship and throughout the
previous season, his progress was hampered by on-track incidents and bumper penalties that often overshadowed his raw pace. However, displaying remarkable resilience, he has learned to navigate these challenges and is now regularly fighting for top positions and is confident of a good show in the remaining three rounds.

Hailing from a dedicated sporting family, the need for speed is in Rishik’s blood. His father, Rohit
Reddy, is a former national-level car racer who was a consistent top-six finisher in the Indian
National Racing Championships and placed 5th overall in the 2015 Indian Junior Touring Cars
Championship.

Since making his debut in the 2022 Meco National Karting Championship, Rishik’s trajectory has
been impressively upward. After finishing as the 2nd Runner-Up in the 2023 Meritus Cup (Round 3)
and the 2024 Meritus Cup overall nationwide, he is now a established name in the premier FMSCI
Rotax Max National Karting Championship, frequently finishing in the top bunch, in terms of pace.

“This podium shows his sincere hard work in the face of obstacles and his ability to indulge in
perseverance,” said a keen observer and Motorsport mentor Chetan Shivram, the former INRC
champion. “He has the innate speed; now he’s combining it with race-craft. To fight back from
setbacks like starting from the back of the grid to finish on the podium shows his true character and
determination. He is a confident and straightforward young talent with a very bright future in
motorsport. I wish him all the best in the future rounds,” he concluded.

Veteran brands and teams such as Msport, Chetan Shivaram Motorsports, Race Dynamics, and FRK Racing who are mentoring and endorsing Rishik as a young talent by sharing their valuable leadership, team work and strategic skills acquired in the racing fraternity.
