“Martinator is Back”: Jorge Martin Shines with Best Result of 2025 in Hungary
Balaton Park, Hungary – August 28, 2025: Reigning MotoGP™ World Champion Jorge Martin reminded the world of his class on Sunday, producing a sensational ride from P16 to P4 at the Michelin® Grand Prix of Hungary. The Aprilia Racing star, who has endured a nightmare opening half to 2025 due to injuries and off-track uncertainty, looked every inch a champion again as he carved through the field in what he called his best performance of the year.
For Martin, who missed pre-season, sat out the opening three rounds, and then lost seven more Grands Prix after a crash in Qatar, simply finishing inside the top five at Balaton Park was a massive achievement. But climbing from the eighth row to fourth showed the “Martinator” is finally rediscovering his rhythm aboard the Aprilia RS-GP.
“I Delivered Today” – Martin Reflects on Hungary Heroics
After the race, Martin admitted even he wasn’t sure what to expect:
“Starting from 16th wasn’t the best, but I had my strategy clear for the first corners. I was always overtaking – two here, three there – and then I was able to set a really strong pace. I’m still learning the bike, but today I gave 100% and P4 is a good result, especially for the team. It keeps the motivation high and shows I’m improving every race.”
The Spaniard acknowledged he still has work to do in adapting fully to the Aprilia:
“I need to better understand how the bike reacts under really hard braking, but my base setup is improving. Today I proved I can fight again, and I feel like I’m back.”
A Fresh Chapter with Aprilia
Beyond the injuries, Martin’s mid-season comeback at Brno was overshadowed by questions about his future. But with his contract situation now resolved, the reigning champion is focused solely on racing. Free from doubt and injury, Martin is channeling his energy into building Aprilia into a consistent race-winning force.
“Last year I had the hunger for winning the title. Now, my motivation is different. The challenge of bringing Aprilia to victories gives me more enjoyment than just winning races. The day we win together will be fantastic,” he said.
A Turning Point for Martin and Aprilia
Martin’s P4 result marks a major turning point for Aprilia Racing, a team that has shown flashes of podium potential with Marco Bezzecchi but has struggled to match the consistency of Ducati and Marc Marquez in 2025. With Martin regaining confidence and fitness, the Noale squad has reason to be optimistic heading into the next rounds.
For MotoGP fans, Sunday’s Hungarian performance felt like a clear signal: the World Champion is back in the fight. As Martin himself put it: “I am the same Martinator as last year. The bike is better too. It’s just a matter of time before we fight for victories.”
And judging by his P16 to P4 charge, that time might come sooner rather than later.
