Oscar Piastri Donates Rare Race-Worn Helmet for F1 Authentics Auction Supporting Children’s Cancer Charity

August 29, 2025 – McLaren Formula 1 star Oscar Piastri has announced a special collaboration with F1 Authentics, the official home of Formula 1 memorabilia, to auction one of his most prized possessions in aid of My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.

Piastri has donated his race-worn helmet from the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix, a rare collectible that is expected to attract intense interest from fans and collectors worldwide. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to My Room, the Australian volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting families affected by childhood cancer.

A Rare Collectible from a Breakthrough Season

Race-used Formula 1® helmets are among the most sought-after items in motorsport memorabilia. For Piastri, who rarely makes such items available to the public, this is an especially unique opportunity.

The 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix marked the opening round of his second F1® season with McLaren, where he secured an eighth-place finish. That year went on to become a landmark season for the Australian, highlighted by his first career win in Hungary, followed by another victory in Azerbaijan. Now in 2025, Piastri is firmly in the hunt for his maiden World Championship, underlining his status as one of the brightest stars of modern Formula 1.

Supporting My Room Children’s Cancer Charity

Piastri became an ambassador for My Room earlier this year, lending his platform to raise awareness and vital funds for children battling cancer and their families.

Speaking about his decision, Piastri said:
“It’s a pleasure to donate my 2024 Bahrain GP race helmet from my personal collection to raise funds for My Room, the children’s cancer charity in Australia, that I am a proud ambassador for. I hope that it will prove a popular item and a significant sum can be generated to go directly towards the tremendous work that My Room does, supporting children and their families in any way they can.”

Margaret Zita OAM, CEO of My Room, added:
“We are incredibly grateful to Oscar, not only for standing with us as a My Room Ambassador, but for donating something so personal and significant. This will raise vital funds for families, fund critical care, and invest in research that improves treatments and outcomes.”

Auction Details

The helmet will be sold as part of the F1 Authentics Austin GP Auction, which begins October 7, 2025 and closes following the United States Grand Prix on October 21, 2025. Fans and collectors can register now at f1authentics.com to preview the lot and take part in the bidding.

Barry Gough, Founder & CEO of Memento Exclusives (F1 Authentics), commented:
“We know how scarce Oscar’s helmets are for collectors, and with his phenomenal 2025 campaign so far, we’re expecting a lot of interest in this authentic piece of history. The winner of this lot will not only own an ultra-rare helmet but also contribute to an incredible cause.”
