Marc Márquez Extends Unbeaten Run With Seventh Straight Win at Hungarian GP 2025
Balaton Park, Hungary – August 24, 2025 – Marc Márquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) delivered another masterclass at the Michelin Grand Prix of Hungary, storming to his seventh consecutive MotoGP victory of the season. Despite fierce early resistance from Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) and late pressure from rookie star Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Márquez controlled the race to perfection, eventually crossing the line 4.3 seconds clear of Acosta.
Drama Before Lights Out and Opening Lap Chaos
Fabio Di Giannantonio’s (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) hopes ended before they began, as a technical problem forced him to start from pitlane. The opening lap brought more drama with contact between Bezzecchi and Márquez at Turn 2, while Enea Bastianini (Red Bull KTM Tech3) and Alex Márquez (BK8 Gresini Racing) both crashed out.
Bezzecchi initially led the way ahead of Franco Morbidelli, with Márquez slotting into P3. Acosta also made a strong start, keeping himself within striking distance of the leaders.
Márquez vs Bezzecchi: The Battle of Balaton
The fight at the front soon ignited as Márquez hunted down Bezzecchi. After multiple failed attempts, the #93 finally pulled off a decisive move at Turn 1 on Lap 11. Once ahead, Márquez unleashed blistering pace, stretching the gap beyond a second and effectively breaking Bezzecchi’s resistance.
Behind them, Acosta seized P2 after capitalizing on a small Bezzecchi mistake on Lap 16, but by then Márquez was untouchable.

Acosta’s runner-up finish marks his second podium in the last three races, confirming the KTM prodigy’s rise in MotoGP. Bezzecchi’s P3 keeps his strong form alive with four podiums in five races, putting him in close contention with Pecco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) in the championship standings.
Jorge Martin (Aprilia Racing) was another standout, charging from P16 to finish P4 – his best result yet with Aprilia. Luca Marini (Honda HRC Castrol) impressed with P5, while Morbidelli slipped to P6 after a late penalty. KTM enjoyed strength in numbers with Brad Binder and Pol Espargaró finishing P7 and P8. Bagnaia settled for P9 after a final-lap error, while Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) completed the top 10.
Championship Picture: Márquez Marches On
The Hungarian GP marks the 22nd different circuit where Márquez has won in his MotoGP career, further underlining his versatility and dominance. With seven consecutive double wins (Sprint + GP), Márquez now holds a commanding 175-point lead in the championship.
As MotoGP heads to Barcelona, Márquez returns to home turf with momentum on his side – and seemingly one hand firmly on a seventh premier class crown.
