Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Geared Up for Hungarian GP Debut at Balaton Park
Balaton, Hungary – August 21, 2025 – The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team are preparing for a fresh challenge as MotoGP heads to Balaton Park Circuit for the first time in history. Riders Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are eager to adapt quickly to the Hungarian layout as Round 14 of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship gets underway.
Quartararo Eyes Comeback
After a difficult weekend in Austria, Quartararo is looking to bounce back and strengthen his 10th position in the World Championship standings. The Frenchman has been studying Balaton Park’s layout, previously used in WorldSBK, and hopes to turn that preparation into points.
“Trying a new circuit is always fun as a rider, and I’m curious to see if this track suits us. The goal is to make a step forward this weekend and give Hungarian fans a great show,” said Quartararo.
Rins Focused on Progress
Coming straight from Spielberg, Álex Rins is determined to continue refining his riding style. Joint-18th in the standings, the Spaniard sees Balaton Park as a key opportunity to build momentum.
“Back-to-back races let us keep working and improving. At a new track, FP1 will be crucial to quickly finding the right rhythm and braking points,” Rins explained.
A Historic Return to Hungary
The Balaton Park Circuit, officially opened in May 2023, stretches 4.08 km with seven right-hand corners, ten left-handers, and a 665m straight. With no premier-class MotoGP data available, the track levels the playing field and promises unpredictable racing. It also marks the sport’s first return to Hungary since 1992.
Team Determined to Bounce Back
Team Director Massimo Meregalli emphasised the importance of this weekend:
“After a tough race in Spielberg, we’re looking forward to a fresh challenge. MotoGP returning to Hungary is special, and our test team’s positive feedback from June gives us confidence. We want to deliver a performance that reflects our determination to fight back and give the fans a spectacle.”
As the MotoGP grid prepares to go racing on completely new asphalt, the Hungarian fans can expect thrilling battles and a truly historic weekend at Balaton Park.
