Ultraviolette Secures Strategic Investment from TDK Ventures to Accelerate Global EV Expansion

Ultraviolette Automotive, the Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup, has announced a strategic investment from TDK Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762). The partnership marks a significant milestone in Ultraviolette’s mission to develop and scale globally competitive, performance-oriented electric vehicles showcasing Indian innovation and engineering excellence.

With this investment, TDK Ventures joins Ultraviolette’s elite roster of institutional backers, including Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, Speciale Invest, Lingotto (formerly Exor Capital), and TVS Motor Company. The company also counts prominent individual investors such as Sriharsha Majety (Co-founder & CEO, Swiggy), Ankit Nagori (Co-founder, Cure Foods; ex-Flipkart CBO), Aprameya Radhakrishna (Co-founder, TaxiForSure), and Dulquer Salmaan (actor and automotive enthusiast).

Founded with a vision to create electric vehicles that combine futuristic design with precision engineering, Ultraviolette’s flagship model, the F77, has set new benchmarks in performance, safety, and technology. With manufacturing ramp-up underway, the company is focused on expanding its R&D, distribution network, and product portfolio for global markets.

Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said:

“Mobility is undergoing a radical transformation, and at Ultraviolette, we are leading that change through cutting-edge innovation. Our partnership with TDK Ventures fast forwards our efforts, from advanced battery platforms to intelligent vehicle systems, reinforcing our commitment to delivering aspirational and globally relevant EVs.”

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-founder, added:

“Through this partnership with TDK Ventures, Ultraviolette will continue to innovate in deep-tech to shape the future of mobility. Together, we will push boundaries in building a safer, smarter, and more efficient electric mobility ecosystem.”

TDK Ventures, which invests in disruptive startups driving scalable solutions in energy, mobility, and sustainability, sees this as a step toward advancing sustainable transportation technologies globally.

Ravi Jain, Investment Director at TDK Ventures, commented:

“We look forward to bringing our TDK Goodness to Ultraviolette’s ambitious plan to design the next generation of energy-efficient, high-performance EV two-wheeler platforms. This partnership positions us at the forefront of India’s electric mobility revolution.”

TDK Ventures recently launched its Bengaluru Innovation Hub in late 2023, aimed at empowering India’s entrepreneurs to scale their deep-tech solutions worldwide.

This strategic investment is expected to strengthen Ultraviolette’s position as a leader in India’s EV two-wheeler space, while accelerating its push into international markets with cutting-edge battery technology and intelligent mobility solutions.
